A gear housing for an aquatic vessel is adapted to be attached at an attachment site to an underside of a hull of the aquatic vessel. The gear housing includes at least one weakened region adapted to yield when the gear housing is rotated at the attachment site following an impact. A breakaway safety system includes such a gear housing, and a fracturable member for attaching the gear housing to the hull at the attachment site, wherein the weakened region is adapted to yield such that the fracturable member fractures. An aquatic vessel includes such a gear housing or such a breakaway safety system.

The present invention relates to an attachment apparatus (2) for attachment of a keel (4) to a hull base (6) of a boat. The apparatus for attachment (2) comprises an elongated sheet-shaped element (10), extending in one propagation plane (P), on which the keel (4) is intended to be attached between the short ends (14, 16) of the elongated element. The sheet-shaped element (10) is arranged to be attached to the hull base (6) of the boat by means of front attachments (20) and by means of rear attachments (22) , and that the sheet-shaped element (10) is designed to elastically deflect from said propagation plane (P) when the element (10) is subjected to a torque around the attachment position (14) of the keel in a plane perpendicular (V) against said propagation plane (P) . The present invention also relates to an arrangement (8) respectively a sailboat comprising the attachment apparatus (2).

There is provided a breakaway safety system for a vessel (10). The vessel (10) includes: (a) a hull (20); (b) one or more engine arrangements (30) supported by the hull 20); and (c) one or more propeller extensions (50) mounted to the hull (20) and coupled to receive motive power from the one or more engine arrangements (30) in operation. The safety system includes: one or more sensors mounted to the vessel (10) for measuring operating parameters of the vessel (10) and generating one or more corresponding input signals; a control unit (250) for receiving the one or more corresponding input signals, and to process the one or more input signals to generate at least one control output (Q, A); one or more fracturable regions (190) for mounting the one or more propeller extensions (50) to the at least one hull (20); and one or more fracturing devices (200, 300, 400, 500) operable to fracture the one or more fracturable regions (190) for jettisoning associated one or more propeller extensions (50) in an event that the control unit (250) detects a potentially hazardous impact event and activates its at least one control output (Q, A) accordingly.

A sequence deciding part (10) acquires information of other ships from other-ship information signals (I), and decides the sequence of information elements of the other-ship information in descending order of probabilities of approaching the local ship. A ship selecting part (12) selects, based on the sequence of information elements decided by the sequence deciding part (10), another ship to be called up. A call-up signal generating part (14) inserts, into a call-up signal, an identification number of the other ship selected by the ship selecting part (12). The call-up signal generating part (14) then transmits the call-up signal to the other ship via a radio communication part (30) and an antenna (16).

The invention relates to a watercraft (1) comprising a hull (2), at least one motor (12) which is fixed in or onto said hull, and a propeller (4) which is driven by the motor by means of a transmission (3). According to the invention, at least part of the underwater transmission (3) and the propeller (4) can be laterally pivoted in relation to the watercraft (1) by means of rotary elements (14, 16, 23, 24, 30).
