To provide a liquid crystal compound satisfying at least one of physical properties such as high stability to light, a high clearing point, a low minimum temperature of a liquid crystal phase, small viscosity, suitable optical anisotropy, large dielectric anisotropy, a large dielectric constant in a minor axis direction, a suitable elastic constant and excellent compatibility; a liquid crystal composition containing the compound; and a liquid crystal display device including the composition. The compound is represented by formula (1). An object of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display element using a liquid crystal composition in which various characteristics of the liquid crystal display element such as dielectric anisotropy, viscosity, a nematic phase upper limit temperature, nematic phase stability at a low temperature, and γ1, and a burn-in characteristic of the display element are not deteriorated. The present invention provides a liquid crystal composition having excellent low temperature stability while maintaining a high speed response of the liquid crystal composition by using a liquid crystal composition containing a compound represented by General Formula (A) and a compound represented by General Formula (M), and a liquid crystal display element including the composition.
