    摘要: The present invention relates to an apparatus for heating fluid in a heating system, such as central heating, comprising at least one heating device with: a container (3) filled with transfer medium, having an inlet connection (4) and an outlet connection (5) and in the interior thereof an electric heating element (9) and a heat accumulator; a feed-through pipe functioning as heat exchanger which is immersed in the transfer medium and connected to the inlet connection and the outlet connection; and pumping means (6) connected to the feed-through pipe to push the fluid therethrough. Particularly mass and heat characteristics of the transfer medium, heat exchanging surface area of the heating element, heating surface area of the feed-through pipe, power of the heating element and volume of the feed-through pipe are taken such that the transfer medium forms the heat accumulator in the container.

    摘要: A fluid heating and/or cooling system utilizing heat storage, providing continuous heating or cooling from periodic heal inputs or withdrawals, allowing the utilization of waste heat and the reduction of utility peak energy loads through operation of cooling and heating equipment during pre-determined time periods. In a preferred embodiment, liquid heat storage (10) is utilized connected in a circulating loop (60, 70, 75, 15, 65) with a shell and tube heat exchanger (30), pump (50), and temperature sensitive diverter valve (45). Rapid sensing of demand or load changes in the heat exchanger shell provides quick response to said load by increasing the amount of liquid drawn from said storage. Load requirements are satisfied over a wide range of withdrawal while using storage substantially different in temperature than that required by the load without a reduction in pressure of the demand system and subsequent phase change of the load liquid.
