摘要: A failure judgment device for a thermostat 16 arranged in a circulation passage 13 of cooling water 12 in an engine 1 includes a water-temperature sensor 18 for detection of a temperature of cooling water 12 having passed through the engine 1, and a controller 19 which monitors rise in temperature of the cooling water 12 at cold startup by a detection signal 18a inputted from the water-temperature sensor 18 and which calculates a predicted water temperature in the engine 1 as from beginning of the startup to judge failure of the thermostat 16 when the predicted water temperature reaches a valve opening temperature of the thermostat 16 with the temperature of the cooling water 12 being not beyond a threshold value.

摘要: An induction cleaning analyzing system includes a pressure sensor, an ignition event detector, and a control module. The pressure sensor measures airflow pressures of intake air and/or exhaust from cylinders in a common airflow pathway of a vehicle. The ignition event detector determines ignition events of the cylinders. The control module obtains pressure waveforms representative of the airflow pressures and divides the pressure waveforms into waveform segments. The control module associates different subsets of the waveform segments with different ones of the cylinders using the ignition events. The control module also identifies cyclic variations in the airflow pressures flowing in the common airflow pathway and caused by at least one of the cylinders by examining the waveform segments associated with the at least one of the cylinders.

摘要: A method to obtain average revolutions per independent unit includes a total number of engine revolutions with the engine control unit (ECU) (4) and a current odometer value with the ECU (5) so that a final value can be calculated by dividing the total number of engine revolutions with the current odometer value for a designated time period (6). The current odometer value can be a distance unit (13) or time unit (14) as the final value, which is the average revolutions per independent unit, is displayed with a control panel of a vehicle (7). The final value provides an accurate conclusion regarding the current condition of an engine in addition to the mileage of the engine or the engine hours.
