Abstract: Some fuel injection valve drive control devices for an internal combustion engine which use a voltage boosted from an in-vehicle battery to control driving of a fuel injection valve are provided with a discharge circuit for discharging electric charge accumulated in a boost capacitor in the event of an emergency. However, the discharge circuit is intended for emergency use and does not operate during normal control, resulting in a problem in that occurrences of failures could go unnoticed and undiagnosed. In order to solve the aforementioned problem, the present invention has a configuration provided with: a boost circuit which has a boost coil, a switching component (FFT or the like) for supplying a switching current from a battery source voltage to the boost coil, and a boost capacitor for accumulating a boosted voltage generated by the operation of the switching component; a discharge circuit for discharging the accumulated electric charge via a current limiting means (e.g. discharge resistor, constant current source) and a discharge switch (FET or the like); and a monitoring circuit for monitoring the accumulated voltage. The discharge circuit is caused to operate when the control device is shutting down and performs a deterioration/failure diagnosis of the boost capacitor and an operation check of the discharge circuit on the basis of a monitored voltage value of the boost capacitor at the time of starting the discharge operation and a monitored voltage value of the boost capacitor after a predetermined time has elapsed.

Abstract: An anomaly determination unit includes an EGR amount acquisition section configured to acquire an actual amount of an EGR amount, which is a flow rate of EGR gas; an estimation amount computation section configured to compute an estimated amount of the EGR amount based on a working gas pressure, which is a pressure of working gas in which the EGR gas and intake air are mixed, an EGR temperature, which is a temperature of the EGR gas immediately upstream of an EGR valve, an EGR pressure, which is a pressure of the EGR gas immediately upstream of the EGR valve, and an opening degree instruction value for the EGR valve; and a determination section configured to determine the presence or absence of an anomaly in the EGR valve based on the divergence between the actual amount of the EGR amount and the estimated amount.

Abstract: The present invention is applied to an internal combustion engine comprising a first supercharger (61), a second supercharger (62), a first control valve (66) for controlling a supply of an exhaust gas to the first supercharger, and a second control valve (64) for controlling a supply of an air to the first supercharger, and provides to an apparatus for determining an abnormality of a control valve which can determine abnormality of the first control valve and the second control valve. The apparatus for determining an abnormality of a control valve determines abnormality of a control valve when a supercharging pressure is smaller than a predetermined referential supercharging pressure by a predetermined value or more. The apparatus for determining an abnormality of a control valve determines that the first control valve is abnormal and the second control valve is normal if a pressure of an air at a downstream side of a compressor of the first supercharger is larger than a pressure of an air at an upstream side of the compressor by a predetermined value or more. In the meantime, the apparatus for determining an abnormality of a control valve determines that either one of the first control valve and the second control valve is abnormal if the pressure of the air at a downstream side of the compressor of the first supercharger is not larger than the pressure of the air at an upstream side of the compressor by a predetermined value or more.
