Abstract:
A color toner for electrophotography, preferably used as a flash fixing toner which can be processed at a high speed, and exhibit excellent fixing property, high image resolution (image reproducibility) when fixed, and color reproducibility by color overlapping, and having a preferable color tone, with which a multi-color image can be formed. The color toner for electrophotography is used for the extreme bottom layer of a multi-color image comprised of laminating at least two types of toners that are selected from black toner, magenta toner, yellow toner, and cyan toner, and contains a coloring agent and an infrared ray absorbent, the color toner for electrophotography has a contrast ratio in the range of 35% to 95%.
Abstract:

Abstract:
An image-forming apparatus comprising an image-bearing member for holding thereon an electrostatic latent image; a charging means for charging the surface of the image-bearing member electrostatically; an exposure unit for forming the electrostatic latent image on the image-bearing member by exposing to light the image-bearing member having been charged by the charging means; and a developing unit which has at least a toner-carrying member for carrying and transporting a toner thereon and developing the electrostatic latent image by a contact developing system to form a toner image. In the triboelectric series relationship between the toner and a surface layer of the image-bearing member, the surface layer of the image-bearing member has a charge polarity which is a different polarity with respect to the charge polarity of the toner in the developing unit. Also disclosed is a process cartridge used in the above apparatus, having at least the above image-bearing member and developing unit, and having the above triboelectric series relationship.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a novel process for producing electrophotographically active titanylphthalocyanine. According to the previous process, titanylphthalocyanine in its active form IV, for example, is produced by dissolution in trifluoroacetic acid and methylene chloride and subsequent precipitation with a mixture of methanol and water. In the novel process, which has improved space-time yield, titanylphthalocyanine is dissolved in pentafluoropropionic acid and a solvent of the group comprising halogenated alkanes/aromatic compounds or halogenated alkanes/aromatic compounds and sulphonic acids. The active form is precipitated by precipitation with water in the presence of a further polar organic solvent. A mixture of pentafluoropropionic acid and methylene chloride and a mixture of p-toluene sulphonic acid and methane sulphonic acid are particularly suitable as solvents. The precipitated product displays very good electrophotographic properties.
