In a tape playback and, or recorder apparatus, of the type in which a first arm movable with respect to the frame carries at least a playback magnetic head, a second arm movable with respect to the frame carries a pressure roller and a fast movement lever is shifted in opposite directions starting from a rest position in which it sets the kinematic elements for the normal speed feeding towards one of the two positions in which it sets the kinematic elements forthe fast running of the tape in one of the two directions to cause the fast rewinding or winding of the tape, it is provided forthe use of a device for keeping operative and controllably disabling the fast running movement ofthe tape, for instance in orderto be ableto carry out, in combination with an electronic circuit not being a part of the present invention, the search of a particular prerecorded passage. The present device comprises means elastically fixable to the frame and releasable from it on a control coming from the cited electronic search circuit, for releasably keeping the fast movement lever in each of its two positions of fast running of the tape and arm lever means for causing the arms to move during the motion of the fast movement lever so as to take the pressure roller away from the capstan and carry the playback head away from the position of pressure contact with the tape.

Am Schaltrad (14) ist eine Steuerkurve vorgesehen, die das Schaltelement (46) bei Bandstillstand verstellt. Ein Verbindungselement (52), das vom Schaltelement (46) bei Bandstillstad immer in der gleichen Richtung verstellt wird, dient dann zum Überführen des Gerätes in eine andere Betriebsfunktion. Das Verbindungselement (52) is mit der Kopfplatte (74) kuppelbar, um so die Kopfplatte (74) verstellen zu können. Ein Rastmechanismus (57) an dem Verbindungselement (52) verrastet die Kopfplatte in wenigstens einer auf die Kassette verstellten Lage. Das Verbindungselement (52) kann beim erneuten Ansteuern mittels des Schaltelementes (76) den Rastmechanismus (57) entrasten, so daß die Kopfplatte (74) aus der auf die Kassette verstellten Stellung zurückfährt.

A tape recorder records and/or reproduces information signals by bringing a magnetic tape into sliding contact with a magnetic head on a rotary head mechanism. This tape recorder comprises a rotary head mechanism including a rotating drum fitted with a magnetic head for bringing the head into sliding contact with running tape, and a fixed drum coaxial with the rotating drum for rotatably supporting the latter; a pair of supporting members rotatably supported on the rotary head mechanism; a pair of capstans rotatably mounted on ends of the supporting members; and a pair of pinch rollers opposed to the corresponding capstans. The pair of supporting members are rotated in accordance with the direction in which the magnetic tape travels. Either one of the capstans is selectively moved toward either one of the pair of the pinch rollers in order to pinch the magnetic tape between the capstan and pinch roller. Further, the capstan and pinch roller cooperate to drive the magnetic tape, thus implementing the switch over in the traveling direction of the magnetic tape.
