Es wird vorgeschlagen, kontaminierte Oberflächen, insbesondere radioaktiv kontaminierte Betonflächen und Mauerwerke mit druckluftbetriebenen Schlagwerkzeugen zu bearbeiten. Es hat sich gezeigt, dass dies eine äusserst staubarme Bearbeitungsweise ist, bei der im wesentlichen Partikel in der Grössenordnung von 0,2 mm bis 2,0 mm abgeschlagen werden. Das Verfahren lässt sich mit einer Vorrichtung (1) realisieren, bei der in einem Gehäuse (2) mehrere Kammern übereinander angeordnet sind. Bevorzugterweise wird zuoberst eine Druckluftzuführungskammer (10) über einen Druckluftanschluss (3) gespiesen. Darunter befindet sich eine Druckluftabsaugkammer (12), die einen Absauganschluss (4) aufweist. Zuunterst ist eine Auffangkammer (13) angeordnet, in der meisselartige Hammerbolzen (51) wirksam sind. Die Hammerbolzen, die Teil der Schlagwerkzeuge (5) sind, ragen im Gehäuse (2) hinaus. Die Schlagwerkzeuge (5) durchsetzen sowohl die Druckluftzuführungskammer (10), die darunter liegende Absaugkammer (12), sowie eine unter der Absaugkammer (12) angeordnete Expansionskammer (11). Die expandierte Luft (11) gelangt in die Umgebung und wird wiederum via der Auffangkammer (13) abgesaugt, die gegenüber der Umgebung durch eine luftdurchlässige Dichtung in Form einer Bürstendichtung (9) begrenzt ist. Die Vorrichtung (1) wird von einer Klammer (6) gehalten, an der eine Halterung (7) vorgesehen ist, die zur Verbindung mit einem Roboterarm dient.

The inventive method consists in producing a rough piece made of a plastic material in the form of a brick comprising at least two tiles which are connected by joints and have at least one opening area which crosses the joints. Afterwards, the rough piece is dried, heat treated and divided into two tiles along the opening area by forces applied to at least two surfaces of the piece which are crossed by the opening area, said forces being applied to the opposite sides of the opening area and directed towards each other. Initially, the forces forming the prestress of the joints less than ultimate strength are applied, said forces being increased until the joints are destroyed. The inventive device for dividing rough pieces made of a brittle material comprises a carrier (18) for arranging the piece and at least two load-bearing elements (20, 21). Each load-bearing element has a plane or convex area arranged in such a way that the distance between the projections thereof on the surface of the carrier (18) is gradually diminishing from the value equal to or greater than the distance between two parallel surfaces of the rough piece (19) towards the value which is less than said distance. The inventive device comprises also a pusher (23) interacting with the rough piece (19) and a unit for receiving parts of the divided rough piece.

A mass (20, 121) weighing on the rollers (12, 117) is supported between the rotary shaft (16, 112) and head (26, 119) so that said rollers (12,117) can exert pressure against the surface to be worked, the mass (20, 121) being prevented from rotating with the head (26, 119). Advantageously, the head (26) can be connected to the rotary shaft (16) by interposition of an articulated joint (25) enabling the free inclination of the head (26) rotation plane with respect to the rotation axis of the shaft (16). In this way, the working of the curved surfaces is permitted.

A scabbler bit comprises a carrier having a body 30 with a lower face 31 formed to provide bores 32 for receipt of scabbler tips 44. The body 30 has a central bore 33 for passage of a fixing shank 34. The bore 33 is enlarged at the lower face 31 to form a recess 35 to receive the head 36 of the shank 34. The opposite face of the body 30 is formed with a counterbore 37 to receive the piston 38, the shank 34 being retained in the piston by a pin 39. Thus, axial loads on the scabbler bit are transmitted to the piston 38 via shoulder 40 of the carrier bearing on end face 41 of the piston 38, while any sideways of twisting load is resisted by the wall of the counterbore 37 bearing on the side face 42 of the piston 38.
