Die Erfindung betrifft eine Spannvorrichtung (S) für Kettfäden (KF) einer Kettfadenschicht (KFS), mit zwei Stützelementen (S-10, S-20), deren Abstand zueinander über einen diese verbindenden Verstellmechanismus (S-30) veränderbar ist, und die mit Führungselementen (S-11, S-11', S-21) verbunden sind, über welche die Stützelemente (S-10, S-20) mit einer gemeinsamen Führungsschiene (FS) löslich verbindbar und an dieser entlang bewegbar sind, wobei eines der Stützelemente (S-20) eine Spanneinheit (S-40) zum Nachspannen von wenigstens einem Kettfaden (KF) trägt, und die Stützelemente (S-10, S-20) mit Arretierelementen (S-12, S-22) zum wechselseitigen Feststellen der Stützelemente (S-10, S-20) an der Führungsschiene (FS) versehen sind, so dass die Spanneinheit (S-40) mit Hilfe des Verstellmechanismus (S-30) an der Führungsschiene (FS) entlang bewegbar ist.
