The present invention relates to a method for heat-sealing a fiber matrix onto a substrate. Said method includes the steps of: i) depositing, on one adhesion area of said substrate and/or said fiber matrix, a powder composition essentially containing a starch hydrolysate having a DE greater than 30; ii) bringing the adhesion areas of said fiber matrix and of said substrate into contact; and iii) applying a temperature of between 100 and 180°C onto one and/or the other of the adhesion areas of said substrate and of said fiber matrix so as to adhere said fiber matrix to the substrate. The invention also relates to the use of an adhesive composition substantially containing a starch hydrolysate having a DE greater than 30 in heat-sealing and to an adhesive composition for binding a fiber matrix to a substrate.

Included are segmented polyurethane elastic fibers or spandex fibers, capable of bonding to polymer fiber such as nylon or polyamide fibers, in addition to bonding to itself, for apparel textile applications. More particularly the invention relates to bicomponent spandex fibers, with a heat resistant core and a heat sensitive sheath, spun from polymer solutions. The nylon fabrics containing such spandex fibers have enhanced stretch performance and improved surface appearance after heat treatment to activate the fusing and bonding between nylon fibers and spandex fibers.

The object of the present invention is to overcome a practical restriction that a knit must be used on a surface of a sealing tape when the sealing tape is used for a textile product obtained by subjecting a fabric laminated product to sewing-processing or fusion process as well as providing a sealing tape which is excellent in durability, light-weighted and thin, and highly comfortable without undermining appearance and touch feeling. A non-compliant high strength balloon (10) includes a reinforcement member (30) formed of a sleeve of woven or braided strengthening elements (32, 34). There are provided circumferential strengthening elements (32) which are pre-tensed in order to remove any undulations within the strengthening elements (32) and to ensure that these have a precise annular size. On the other hand, the longitudinal strengthening elements (34) have undulations therein. The pre-tensing of the strengthening elements (32) ensures that the balloon will not stretch during pressurisation thereof, which can occur when the circumferential strengthening elements have undulations therein, which will be natural artefacts of a weaving or braiding process. The undulations in the longitudinal strengthening elements (34) provides the balloon with increased longitudinal flexibility.
