    摘要: The present invention relates to efficient coding of interlaced scan video sequences. Input picture (1) is partitioned into smaller blocks (2) of pixel data where the two fields in each block are examined (3) for correlation. If the difference between the two fields in the block is low (or the correlation is high), the block will be coded (6) with a frame coding method that assumes all lines in the block are progressive scanned, and therefore, with efficient inter-frame motion compensation method and chrominance data intra-frame sub-sampling method designed. On the other hand, if the difference between the two fields in the block is high (or the correlation is low), the block will be coded (5) with a field coding method where more emphasis is made on exploring correlation within each field (intra-field) and correlation of each field and its neighboring fields (inter-field); furthermore, intra-field sub-sampling of the chrominance data is better performed in such block.

    摘要: High degree of accuracy of the position of a vehicle can be ensured by maintaining the continuity of the running path of the vehicle and by correcting the vehicle position to a vehicle position measured by a GPS navigation system when an positional deviation occurs due to sensor errors. Specifically, the vehicle positions are estimated in accordance with signals from sensors for detecting behaviors of the vehicle, and then the vehicle position is shifted onto a designated road having a feature coincident with that of the running path of the vehicle based upon data of the estimated vehicle positions. Further, the vehicle position is corrected to a position measured by use of a GPS receiver only when the cumulative value of distances of the positional shifts made by a number of cycles in past or in a predetermined running distance range exceeds a predetermined threshold value.
