摘要: Silica cores are described particularly though not exclusively for use in the manufacture of precision cast components. The cores are dimensionally stable and resistant to distortion at temperatures exceeding 1500°C. The silica cores contain ions selected from the group comprising titanium, zirconium, phosphorus, vanadium, chromium, molybdenum and tungsten. A preferred material is titania. The cores may contain between 0.05 and 10 wt% of titania to promote devitrification.

摘要: Fabric handling apparatus comprises a table (1) on which layers of fabric may be stacked, the table being vertically movable relative to the upper run of a conveyor (2). A pickup device (3) is mounted above the table for picking up an uppermost one of the fabric layers when the table is raised to engage the stack with the pickup device. The conveyor comprises two spaced chains, and in the pickup position the fabric layers extend through space between the chains. After picking the uppermost layer the table may be lowered and the conveyor is then driven to move a support section (11, 12) of the conveyor below the pickup device and between the layer held thereby and the uppermost fabric layer of the remaining stack. Movement of the support surface completes separation of the picked layer from the stack and transport that layer to a further work station (15).

摘要: (57) A fabric pick-up device which separates single layers from a stack of fabric layers comprises a mounting plate (1) by which it may be secured to a table (2), an angled bracket (6) extending the full width of the device, and a pickup assembly (8). The pickup assembly (8) is supplied with compressed air to operate three double-acting pneumatic cylinders (20,21,22). Two pickup plates (29, 30) have on their lower surfaces needles (39, 40 respectively). Operation of the cylinders (20, 21) causes the plates to be pivoted between a standby position, a pickup position in which a fabric layer is picked up on the needles, and a release position by means of a cam plate (53). Operation of cylinder (22) causes the pickup assembly to be raised so that the fabric layer picked up may be separated from the needles (39, 40).

摘要: There is provided a computer-implemented method for generating virtual chimera populations of multi-part organ shapes for use in an in-silico trial, wherein organ shapes are represented as surface or volumetric meshes, the method comprising using a part-aware generative model to learn a latent representation of each part of a multi-part organ shape for inclusion in a virtual population and output synthesised parts of the multi-part organ shape, using a spatial composition model to align the outputted synthesised parts of the multi-part organ shape and output an anatomically meaningful example of an overall multi-part organ shape as a virtual chimera and storing the virtual chimera in the virtual population, for use in the in-silico study. There is also provided an apparatus and computer readable medium embodying the method.
