A novel liquid heating apparatus is provided by which sufficient heat efficiency is achieved with the production cost reduced by simplification of the construction thereof, and the maintenance of which is easily carried out. The liquid heating apparatus (1) is provided with a burner unit (5) disposed downward of the bottom portion of a liquid tank formed to be a rectangular parallelpiped in its plan view for raising the temperature of the liquid in the liquid tank by heating the bottom portion of the liquid tank using a burner of the burner unit. A heating plane (6) opposite flame ports of the burner and a low temperature portion (7) located downward of the heating plane are formed at the bottom portion of the liquid tank. Fins (8) protruding toward the burner direction are juxtaposed and fixed on the rear side of the heating plane in the lengthwise direction thereof. A fan capable of generating a flow of combustion gas among the fins is provided in the burner unit. In the burner unit, a plurality of rows of flame ports located along the lengthwise direction of fins are provided at one side in the lengthwise direction of the burner unit. A burner in which a fan is provided is also disposed therein. Furthermore, an exhaust portion is disposed at the other side therein.

A pasta cooker (10) which includes an open water tank (12) shaped to receive pasta for cooking, a heater (44) for boiling water in the tank, a trough (58) positioned to receive and collect starch foam from an upper surface of the water in tank, and a drain (78) for draining water from the trough and tank, the drain including a screen box (76) for filtering pasta particles and starch foam from drained water to prevent clogging of drains downstream of the screen box. The trough (58) is coextensive with a front upper edge of the water tank (12), and the cooker includes a water fill valve which is actuatable to fill the tank such that a small amount of water continuously washes over from the tank into the trough during the cooking of pasta, thereby conveying starch foam floating on the upper surface of the water of the tank to the trough. The screen box (76) includes a removable drawer having perforated sides and positioned to receive the water and starch foam drained the from the trough and tank. The drawer is positioned within a housing shaped to collect water flowing through the drawer, and to receive water which overflows from the drawer in the event that the drawer becomes completely clogged. The screen box (76) includes a downwardly and rearwardly sloping floor (156) to direct drained water toward a rear opening (194) connected to a conventional drain pipe (196). The pasta cooker preferably includes a second tank, also draining into a screen box, for washing cooked pasta. The second tank also includes a flexible spray nozzle for cleaning both tanks and washing cooked pasta.

Un convoyeur suivant un cheminement en zigzag se compose de deux bandes transporteuses continues (A, B) et est particulièrement utile dans le traitement de matériaux. Chaque bande (A, B) présente des ouvertures le long de ses parties marginales et un ensemble de roues dentées entraînées (10-15, 20-26) en prise avec les ouvertures. Une partie de la longueur de cette bande est maintenue parallèle et écartée d'une partie de la longueur de l'autre bande ou les deux bandes forment ensemble un cheminement en zigzag présentant un ou plusieurs virages en U. A chaque virage en U, une bande (A, B) tourne sur les roues dentées (10-15, 20-26) et l'autre tourne en faisant coulisser ses parties marginales autour de guides courbes (34). Les parties restantes des deux bandes (A, B) sont séparées l'une de l'autre et forment des emplacements permettant de déposer un matériau sur le convoyeur ou de l'en retirer.
