Die breite Notlaufstütze weist zusätzlich eine radial innere Widerstandsfläche und einen mit der Felgenschulter gebildeten freien Durchlaß zu einem zusätzlich an der Notlaufstütze ausgebildeten freien Ringraum für den Reifenwulst auf. Es werden sowohl bei Minderluftdruck als auch bei Notlauf sichere Aufnahme der Reifenwülste gewährleistet. Die beibehaltene breite Notlaufstütze sichert zuverlässigen Notlauf, ohne daß auf einen erleichterten Ein- und Ausbau des Luftreifens bei zu diesem Zweck nicht teilbarer Radfelge verzichtet werden muß.

    摘要: A vehicle road wheel (1) has a safety groove (4) adjacent its outboard rim edge (2B) but so as to be within a tyre (3) fitted to the wheel and within which a flexible band (5) is fitted so that a tyre (3) fitted to the wheel has it outboard bead (6) embraced between the flexible band (5) and the outboard rim edge (2B) of the wheel. This enables the configuration of the wheel rim to be simplified and hence the risk of damaging a tyre when fitting it is minimised. The safety groove (4) can be in a tyre sealing member of annular form (7, Figure 3) that is held in position around the wheel by inboard and outboard rim parts (8A, 8B) that are releasably secured together, this sealing member (7) defining the outboard rim edge of the wheel. Where the sealing member (7) is present, inboard and outboard non-rigid torque transfer bands (11) respectively may be fitted to the inboard and outboard rim parts (8A, 88) and for engagement with the sealing member (7).

A ratio RW/SW of a rim width RW of the rim 2 to the tire cross-sectional width SW is 78% to 99%. The sound damper 9 includes a sponge material 9a adhered to at least one of the outer surface 2s of the rim 2 and the inner surface 3s of the pneumatic tire 3. The sponge material 9a has a volume of not less than 0.4% of a total volume of the tire inner cavity 1c.

The adaptor (A) comprises an axially inner end (10) with an inner reinforcing element (16), an axially outer end (9) with an outer reinforcing element (15) and a body (11). According to the invention, the outer reinforcing element (15), axially on the outside of the bearing face (21), is a bead wire consisting of a stack of at least three layers (23, 24, 25) consisting of metallic and concentric filaments. A first layer or core (23) comprises at least one metal filament having a diameter D1 at least equal to 0.8 mm and at most equal to 5 mm, a second layer (24) consists of a metal filament having a diameter D2 at most equal to 1.4 times the diameter D1 and wound in a helix at an angle A2 at least equal to 2° and at most equal to 10° and a third layer (25) consists of a metal filament having a diameter D3 and wound in a helix around the second layer (24) at an angle A3 at least equal to 2° and at most equal to 10° and of opposite sign to that of the angle A2.
