A cargo container in which at least two panels adjacent to each other are each constituted by an integrally formed FRP sheet, and a cargo container in which a main rigidity maintaining member is constituted by a sandwich panel including a core and an FRP made skin sheet and at least two panels adjacent to each other are formed integrally. The cargo container of the present invention is light and has sufficient strength and rigidity when compared to a conventional aluminum-alloy container, and can reduce time and cost required for fabrication and production thereof. In addition, the cargo container constituted by the sandwich panel including the core and FRP made skin sheet has superior freezing refrigerating, cold insulating and heat insulating performances.

One of the structural reinforcements is a beam including a foam web enclosed in at least a fibre wrap. The invention is useful for lightening loading structures, particularly for small commercial vehicles, providing them with greater durability and making them less noisy.

A method of manufacturing a vehicle body panel from a plurality of layers of reinforced polypropylene (12) and a bonding element (14) of aluminium foil or braid is disclosed. The polypropylene layers and the bonding element are compression moulded together thereby to bond the layers together to form a panel and to bond the bonding element to the polypropylene. The panel can then be attached to an extruded aluminium frame (18) by adhesive applied to the bonding elements.
