The present invention provides an orange active dye and the preparation method thereof. The coupling constituent is sodium 2,4-diamino-benzene sulfonate, and the diazo constituent is 2-naphthylamine-disulfonic acid and β-hydroxyethylsulfurylsulfate aniline. The product is obtained by coupling twice, filtering, drying and packing. The active orange dye has an excellent solubility, and has a rate of exhaustion of 96% in dyeing. It is apparently superior to acid dyes, and greatly reduces the difficulty of environmental treatment.

2-Naphthylamin-1.5.7-trisulfonsäure kann in vorteilhafter Weise unter exakt definierten Bedingungen ausgefällt werden. Hierzu werden Reaktionsgemische eingesetzt, die 15-40 Gew.-% der Trisulfonsäure und 60-85 Gew.-% H₂SO₄ oder Oleum enthalten. Diese Gemische werden auf 20-80 Gew.-% H₂SO₄, bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge an H₂SO₄ und H₂O, verdünnt, wobei die Temperatur bei 30-80°C gehalten wird und das Verhältnis von zugesetzter zu ursprünglich vorhandener H₂SO₄, gerechnet als 100 %ige H₂SO₄, mindestens 0,1 beträgt. Der H₂SO₄-Gehalt unterschreitet während der Verdünnung die obige 20%-Marke um nicht mehr als 10 %.
