Equipment for entering and exiting boats is addressed. Generally, the equipment is in the form of 'divers' doors' for inflatable or similar boats. However, unlike existing inflatable doors, the doors discussed herein need not necessarily inflate. Instead, they may be formed as flaps moveable between closed and open positions. Ramped rub strakes or other aspects of the boats may assist in diverting water away from any gaps present when the flaps are closed but the boats are travelling at significant speeds.

Many people enjoy outdoor sports, both in summertime and wintertime. During the summer, water sports are very popular; during the winter, snow related sports come into season. Inflatable sports devices (1) are particularly useful, as they can readily be transported from the user's home to the place of use. Whilst for many years, inflatable water sports devices have been known in the form of dinghies and rafts, only recently have these also been used in winter sports, such as sledging. The current invention, relates to an inflatable sports device (1), which is further integrated with guiding ribs (30) provided on the underside (22) of side regions (3) of the device (1). In particular, these side regions (3) are formed such that they do not continuously contact the underlying surface of the device (1), and therefore provide for enhanced steering control.

The inventive vessel is characterised in that the connecting platform (1) takes the form of a floating element. The vessel is further characterised in that the hulls (2) are moved from a floating position to another position by at least the pump ballast/deballast means (5, 6, 7, 8A, 8B) of the hulls, said means co-operating with the hull-immobilising means (11). According to the invention, the operation of the ballast/deballast means and the immobilising means are controlled by a central unit (4) which uses a series of pre-determined sequences in order to control said means in a simultaneous and/or alternating manner such as to cause the hulls to pivot essentially under the effect of hydrostatic forces.

A gas cylinder opening device for opening a sealing mechanism of the gas cylinder is disposed in the housing movable along a first axis having a first orientation between a cocked position and a fired position. A tension mechanism provides tension acting along the first axis for moving the gas cylinder opening device from the cocked position to the fired position. A plunger is holding the gas cylinder opening mechanism in the cocked position. The plunger is movable along a second axis having a different second orientation between a first position and a second position. A water soluble element is holding the plunger in the first position. A first interacting surface of the gas cylinder opening device is disposed at a predetermined angle to the first axis. A second interacting surface of the plunger is in contact with the first interacting surface at the predetermined angle. The angle is determined such that a component along the second axis of a component of the tension acting onto the second interacting surface is within a predetermined range for ensuring structural integrity of the water soluble element in the cocked position and for ensuring movement of the plunger when at least a portion of the water soluble element is dissolved. Using the water activated inflator in a rescue kit is highly beneficial for air rescue operations over a body of water by providing proper timing of the inflation shortly after impact.
