摘要: A peer-to-peer communications system comprising a plurality of peers ( P1, P2,...,Px) connected so that each peer can hear each other peer and speak to each other peer. The peers are numbered and transmission of signals by the peers is sequential and in accordance with the numbering of the peers. Each peer includes means for generating a signal for transmission which signal includes information on the length of the signal. Each peer further includes means for detecting the length of the signal received and, at its turn in the predetermined sequence, initiating its transmission upon detecting that a signal of the length indicated by the length information has been received from the preceding peer in the sequence.

摘要: A scalable networking protocol that allows multiple nodes to communicate via a multi-channel network medium is described. The networking protocol allows any node on the network to assign itself as the active network server. The active network server polls client nodes based on a lineup card. The lineup card includes a high priority queue for low-latency devices, and a low priority queue for devices that can tolerate higher latencies. Network information is sent on the channels as fragments. The protocol provides bad-channel detection and retransmission of fragments in a fragment-by-fragment basis. Support for streaming data or asynchronous data is provided by allocating time slots on the network and allowing two intelligent nodes to talk directly to each other during count-limited token sessions, as arbitrated by the active network server. The network node serving as the active network server can be changed on a dynamic basis, and is typically determined by the first node initiating a transmit request on a sleeping network. Client nodes are addressed by dynamic-polling using an address isolation scheme.

摘要: A first network component of an apparatus in one example is coupled with one or more additional network components. The first network component and the one or more additional network components communicate with one another over a single, shared wireline path through employment of a plurality of code division multiple access (CDMA) codes. The plurality of CDMA codes comprise a first CDMA code and a second CDMA code. The first network component sends a first message over the single, shared wireline path to one of the one or more additional network components through employment of the first CDMA code and contemporaneously receives a second message over the single, shared wireline path from one of the one or more additional network components through employment of the second CDMA code.

摘要: The present application transmits significant data unidirectionally among a plurality of terminal apparatuses and causes a terminal apparatus at the downstream end of a transmission path to collect the significant data. Each terminal apparatus includes a data detection section for detecting whether or not significant data written at another terminal apparatus located toward the upstream side of the transmission path is received, and also includes a data selection section for transferring the significant data as is to a downstream terminal apparatus when the reception of the significant data is detected or outputting significant data generated within the terminal apparatus to a downstream terminal apparatus when the reception of the significant data is not detected.

摘要: A multistation single-channel communication bus system accommodates master stations and slave stations. A master station arbitrates, detects arbitration outcome, and formats. A frame has slave address and slave control signals and accommodates a plurality of data byte periods up to a first maximum, each period accommodating an acknowledge bit. Upon absence of the acknowledge bit the associated data byte is repeated. For intended transfer of a message whose data byte length would exceed said first maximum the message is divided into partial messages each of an associated frame data byte count below said first maximum, and assigned to a respective bus frame. For each frame, both byte periods and received acknowledge bits are counted. If the first maximum is attained earlier by said data byte period number than the frame data byte count by the acknowledge bit number, the frame has failed. Any transfer in that frame is then ignored and a repeat is undertaken.
