    摘要： The present invention is directed to a universal portable workstation that can be temporarily coupled to an existing fixture, the portable workstation comprising an adjustable support leg assembly, a first table section, a second table section and an attachment clamp. The support leg assembly includes one fixed leg and at least one adjustable leg configured for relative telescopic movement. The support leg assembly is pivotally coupled to a first table section that is configured to house the support leg assembly in a retracted position. The height of the workstation is adjustable and can be fixed by a height adjustment lock. First table section and second table section are hingedly coupled so that the two sections can be in an extended, flat position and a folded, retracted position. The attachment clamp is configured to temporarily fixedly couple an end of the second table section to the existing fixture.

    摘要： A counterbalance apparatus (10) for moving the work surface (100B) of a work station (100) is described. Preferably, the apparatus includes first and inner tubular members (12 and 20), a spring (70) and a cam follower (50). The first member is mounted to the panel (100A) adjacent the work station. The inner member is mounted with the top end (20A) adjacent the underside of the work surface and the bottom end (20B) extending into the top end (12A) of the first member. The sidewalls (12C and 20C) of the first and inner members have first and inner cam grooves (16 and 26), respectively. A dampener (30) is preferably mounted within the inner member. A threaded rod (36) is mounted on the top end (32A) of the body (32) of the dampener and has an adjustment head (36B) which extends through the work surface. The cam follower having rollers (56 and 58) is mounted at the bottom end (34A) of the piston rod (34) of the dampener such that the rollers extend into the first and inner cam grooves, respectively. The spring is mounted between the cam follower and an adjustment nut (44) around the threaded rod. During movement of the work surface, the inner member moves in and out of the first member to compress and expand the spring. The cam rollers move along the cam grooves and allow for a constant force on the work station throughout the movement of the work station.

A beam (10) has two depending poles (11) and each pole is clamped by a clamping mechanism (14a,14b) carried by an associated pair of legs. When the legs (12a,12b,13a,13b) are open, the clamping mechanism (14a) is operative to hold the associated pole (11) against movement relative to the associated legs (12a,12b) whereas when the legs are moved together, this releases the clamping mechanism and allows the position of the pole to be adjusted.
