A method of manufacturing a paper making screen plate comprises the steps of preparing a plurality of longitudinal members each having recesses and projections continuously formed on the surface thereof with at least two pieces of the projections, disposing the plurality of the longitudinal members in parallel with each other in such a manner that the recesses of each of the longitudinal members are caused to confront the recesses of each of the longitudinal members and the projections of each of the longitudinal members are abutted against the projections of each of the longitudinal members, fixing the ends on one side of the plurality of the longitudinal members disposed in parallel with each other to a first support member, fixing the ends on the other side of the plurality of the longitudinal members disposed in parallel with each other to a second support member, and forming slits between the longitud inal members, the paper making screen plate can be easily manufactured. Consequently, the paper making screen plate can be easily manufactured.
