摘要： A computer system in which the architecture of the system comprises a plurality of computer constituent units, consists of a plurality of elemental devices of a processor (2-2) in­cluding a memory (2-3), an input/output interface device (2-1) and a power source device (2-6). Also provided is a signal transfer means (40) as well as a power feed means. A switching means is provided for selecting among the elemental devices at different operating states. Also disclosed is a plurality of copied programs which are stored in said plurality of elements of said memory. Also, said elemental units are constructed as stacked units in a multistage fashion, and said signal trans­fer means consists of optical means and is constructed of a substance (35) whose transparency is controlled reversibly or selectively by electrical characteristics.

摘要： in a digital transmission system wherein a plurality of transmission control units (1) each of which has reception data error detecting means, data storing means (13), receiving means (16) and transmitting means (17) are successively connected by a transmission medium (2), the transmission control unit is operated in a through mode in which reception data is directly forwarded under a normal state, and when an error has been detected in reception data, the operation mode of the transmission control unit is switched to a store-and-forward mode in which a group of reception data are once stored and are thereafter forwarded anew subject to no error. When normal data have been continuously received a predetermined number of times in the operation in the store-and-forward mode, the operation mode of the transmission control unit is switched to the through mode.
