The invention relates to a method for detecting a high temperature fluid leak in a turbomachine (10). The turbomachine (10) comprises a source of high temperature pressurised fluid, at least one fluid distribution line (14, 15) suitable for distributing said high temperature fluid, and a turbomachine compartment in which the distribution line (14, 15) is at least partially housed. The method comprises the following steps: measurement of at least two pressure parameters of the turbomachine compartment, including a measured pressure and a pressure variation over time; detection of a high temperature fluid leak when at least one of the two pressure parameters of the turbomachine compartment reaches a characteristic value of a high-temperature fluid leak in the compartment. The invention also relates to a high-temperature fluid distribution system and a turbomachine comprising such a high temperature fluid distribution system.

A steam turbine includes a turbine body; a steam flow passage; a regulating valve which regulates opening and closing of the steam flow passage with a linear motion; a switching drive mechanism which drives the regulating valve; an electronic governor which controls at least the switching drive mechanism; and a controller unit. The switching drive mechanism has an electric motor which rotates when supplied with power, a conversion mechanism which converts a rotary motion of the electric motor into a linear motion of the regulating valve, and a brake which brakes the rotary motion of the electric motor. At least one of the controller unit and the electronic governor performs control such that the brake is actuated and the position of the regulating valve is maintained when at least one of the electric motor and the controller unit breaks down.

The pitch axis (P) of each outlet guide vane (50) is positioned forward the center of pressure (52) of each outlet guide vane (50) such that in the event of a mechanical failure, the outlet guide vane (50) defaults to a neutral position.

In one embodiment, the component (101) is a gas turbine component, the wet fluid stream (111) is a hot combustion stream, the hermetic coating (113) is an environmental barrier coating (119), and the flow (303) reduces or eliminates volatilization of the CMC substrate (103). A method includes receiving an indication of exhaust gas temperature (EGT) for a gas turbine engine, and determining, by at least one processor, based on the received indication of the EGT, a representation of a second derivative with respect to time of the EGT. The method further includes comparing the representation of the second derivative of the EGT to a threshold value, and determining, based on the comparing, an engine flameout condition of the gas turbine engine. In some embodiments, the at least one processor can determine a representation of a first derivative with respect to time of the EGT. The representation of the first derivative of the EGT can be compared to a threshold value, determined based on the received indication of the EGT, to determine the engine flameout condition.

Acoustic pyrometry-based active temperature monitoring of gas turbine combustors, including industrial gas turbine (IGT) combustors is incorporated into the combustion monitoring and control system by addition of an acoustic transmitter or acoustic transceiver that transmits a sound wave in a line-of-sight with a plurality of thermoacoustic sensors, such as dynamic pressure sensors. Sound transmission time-of-flight is measured by the controller and correlated with path temperature along the line-of-sight. Path(s) of acoustic transmission serve as absolute temperature measurement that optionally is used for calibrating dominant mode passive bulk temperature measurement. In an integrated thermoacoustic pressure-based sensor and monitoring/control system embodiment, the controller correlates performance of an combustion thermoacoustic properties in order to identify combustion anomalies by wavelet or Fourier analysis techniques, determine bulk temperature characteristics within the combustor with dominant mode frequency analysis techniques and determines absolute active path temperatures within the combustor with acoustic transmission and time-of-flight analysis techniques.
