    摘要: A ventilator (10) includes a ventilator housing (12) defining an exhaust air flow section (14) and a fresh air flow section (16), a rotary wheel (34), a heat and moisture exchange media (48) supported by the rotary wheel (34) and intersecting the exhaust air flow section (14) and the fresh air flow section (16), a rotary wheel mounting assembly (50) including a first set of guide rollers in contact with a first rim edge portion of the rotary wheel (34) and a second set of guide rollers in contact with a second rim edge portion of the rotary wheel (34), and a drive roller in contact with one of the rim edge portions. A hub and bearing assembly (39) is provided such that the rotary wheel (34) may tilt with respect to the mounting assembly (50). A rotary wheel access plate (72) defines an exhaust air outlet (20) and a fresh air inlet (22) and is equipped with an access plate opening assembly. A moisture transfer wick (69) extends across a partition assembly between the exhaust air flow section (14) and the fresh air flow section (16). A rotary wheel seal (47) positioned between the circumferential rim of the rotary wheel (34) and the ventilator housing (12) includes first and second sealing members pivotally mounted on one end thereof and spring mounted on another end thereof. The rotary wheel (34), which is designed to enable maintenance of wheel circularity, is mounted so as to be readily removable from the ventilator housing (12). Similarly, in one embodiment of the present invention, the exchange media (48) is arranged so as to be readily removable from the rotary wheel (34).

    摘要: A rotor and a sealing device for a rotary adsorber is disclosed. The rotor includes a rim, spokes, arc-shaped sectors, a calking material, and a thermal insulating seal. The spokes divides the rim into arc-shaped portions. The sectors are disposed in the rim and include a gas adsorptive element. The calking material is provided between each sector and one of the rim and the spoke. The thermal insulating seal covers end surfaces of the spokes and joint portions of the sectors. The sealing device includes a sealing material, a mounting plate, a connecting portion, a rod member, and a spring. The sealing material is slidably interposed between a partitioning frame of the rotary adsorber and the mounting plate. The connecting portion fixes the mounting plate to the partitioning frame. The rod member is fixed to the connecting portion. The spring is interposed between the sealing material and the connecting portion.

    摘要: A heating and ventilation unit has a ceramic heat wheel rotatable within a housing between first and second plenums 3, 4 through which fresh and stale air, respectively, are forced to pass in a hot air ventilation system. The heat wheel is made of cordierite material such as is used in catalytic conversion systems for automobiles. It is formed with non-communicating and axially extending parallel pores having a pore density of 62 pores per sq. cm. As it rotates the heat wheel transfers to the fresh air both the heat generated by a gas burner in the second plenum, and also low grate heat contained in the stale air. The burner is housed within a combustion housing by means of which the combustion gases are confined to a generally D-shaped area of the heat wheel. The combustion housing is spaced from the walls of the second plenum to form an annular passage through which unheated stale air passes to cool the walls of the second plenum and purge any combustion gases from the pores of the heat wheel entering the first plenum. Humidification of the fresh air may be achieved by water sprayed onto the upstream surface of the heat wheel in the first plenum.

    摘要: Control of the seal (13,25) of a rotary regenerative air preheater (12) is provided by a plurality of inductance sensors (S1-S8, S11-13) arranged around the path of travel of seal parts (13,25) borne by the rotating part (14,20) of the preheater (12). When these are sealing frames (13) borne on hoods (14) of a stationary matrix (11) type preheater (12) drive means such as magnetic actuators (5) are fed power signals through slip rings (4). When they are seal strips (25) on a rotat­ing matrix (20) type, the drive means (D11-D14) are mounted on the sector plates (23,24) of the stationary body (21,22). A control circuit compares the signals received sequentially from the sensors (S1-S8, S11-S13) and drives appropriate one or ones of the drive means (5, D11-D14) to bring the sealing means (13,25) to a predetermined axial relationship, or to hold them there. The sensors(15) may be paired with comparison sensors (16) in the same environment whereby to reduce errors due to changes in temperature etc.
