摘要: Systems, devices, and methods permit insufflation of a body cavity prior to the insertion of a cannula into the body cavity. Some embodiments of an access system comprise an obturator, a trocar, and a fluid flow channel. The access system has a closed configuration, in which a distal end of the access system is fluidly isolated from the fluid flow channel, and an open configuration, in which the distal end of the access system is fluidly connected to the fluid flow channel, thereby permitting fluid flow, for example, an insufflation gas into a body cavity.

摘要: A cleaning device for use with a percutaneous visualization device includes a cannula and a cleaning swab. The cannula has a first section pivotably connected to a second section. The cleaning swab is positioned at a distal end of the cannula and is configured to pivot into a position to clean at least a portion of a percutaneous visualization device upon insertion into the cannula. In an alternative embodiment, the cleaning device includes a cannula and a seal. The seal is disposed within the cannula and configured to clean at least a portion of a percutaneous visualization device upon insertion and retraction in the cannula. Further, the cannula has a cleaning surface on at least a portion of an inner surface thereof. The cleaning surface is also configured to clean at least a portion of said percutaneous visualization device upon insertion and retraction in the cannula.

摘要: A cannula assembly (100) includes a housing (102) and a cannula member (104) connected to the housing. The cannula member has leading and trailing ends and defines a longitudinal axis. The cannula member further includes a main body (106), a seal (110) adjacent the leading end and a flexible portion (108) disposed between the main body (106) and the seal (110). The seal (110) is capable of receiving an instrument therethrough while maintaining a substantial sealed relation with the instrument. The flexible portion (108) is configured to permit movement of the seal relative to the longitudinal axis during manipulation of the endoscopic instrument. The flexible portion (108) of the cannula member may include one or more bellows (112). The one or more bellows (112) may form a goose neck configuration. Alternatively, the one or more bellows (112) define a series of ridges and grooves.

The obturator includes seals, valves, screens and/or various other tip features to eliminate the ingress of fluids, matter and/or gas that can disrupt the visual field of the laparoscope disposed within the obturator. The obturator provides additional features such as lens and anti-fog features to further increase visibility of the scope, efficiently insufflate the patient and ultimately provide an access channel into the insufflated abdomen once the visual insufflation obturator is removed.

摘要: Devices are provided for performing translumenal (e.g., transoral and transanal) procedures. In general, the devices utilize a trocar assembly or trocar end cap that can facilitate insertion of an endoscope through tissue. In one embodiment, a flexible trocar assembly (10) is provided and includes an obturator (20) having an inner lumen formed therethrough for receiving an endoscope therein, and a distal end that is adapted to facilitate insertion of the endoscope through tissue and that is adapted to facilitate viewing therethrough. The trocar assembly can also include a trocar sleeve (30) that is disposable over the obturator. In use, once the trocar assembly is inserted through tissue, the trocar sleeve can function as a placeholder, allowing the endoscope and obturator to be removed. The endoscope can then be removed from within the obturator and reinserted through the trocar sleeve for use in performing various other procedures. In other embodiments, rather than using a trocar that houses the endoscope, an end cap can be removably disposed over a distal end of the endoscope. The present application also provides devices for shielding an endoscope during insertion through a body lumen, and in particular for preventing contact between the endoscope (or trocar sleeve) and the body lumen, thus preventing bacteria from being carried into a body cavity.

The device includes an elongated body having a proximal end and a distal end sized to be positioned within a tissue site which includes the puncture. The elongated body includes a utility lumen sized to allow a catheter to be delivered through the utility lumen. The utility lumen is positioned within the elongated body so positioning the elongated body within the tissue site allows a catheter delivered through the utility lumen to enter the vessel. The elongated body also includes a closure lumen having an entrance port. A closure composition can be delivered through the entrance port into the closure lumen. The closure lumen also includes an exit port adjacent the distal end of the elongated body. The closure composition delivered into the closure lumen can be delivered through the exit port to the tissue site adjacent the puncture.

摘要: An insertion part of an endoscope and an insertion part of a treatment tool, which are inserted in an outer tube, can be synchronously moved in the axial direction, and, even when the insertion part of the treatment tool is slightly moved in the axial direction, an excellent endoscopic image without shake is obtained. When an endoscopic surgery device 1 is operated over an allowance amount t when a treatment tool 50 is operated in an insertion and removal direction of the treatment tool 50, an endoscope 10 moves in the insertion and removal direction in interlock with the movement in the insertion and removal direction of the treatment tool 50. Moreover, the treatment tool 50 moves in the axial direction of the outer tube 100 with the allowance amount t with respect to the endoscope 10. Therefore, when the treatment tool 50 is moved in the insertion and removal direction, if the movement is within a range of the allowance amount t, the endoscope 10 does not move in the insertion and removal direction. By providing such allowance amount t, slight movement of the treatment tool is not transmitted to the endoscope.
