摘要: Aspects of the present invention relate to an automated cell culture instrument and to methods for operating such an instrument. In one aspect, the cell culture instrument includes a computing unit and a plurality of electrically controllable resources (e.g., sensors, actuators, etc.). The computing unit receives a protocol, schedules the resources so as to execute the protocol, and operates the resources as scheduled or in response to so as to provide an improved environment for cell culture growth. The computing unit may simulate protocol execution in connection with the scheduling or execution of the protocol.

摘要: A system monitors applications and network flows used during the business transaction to determine distributed business transaction anomalies caused at least in part by network performance issues. A network flow associated with a business transaction is monitored by a network agent. The network agent may capture packets, analyze the packets and other network data to determine one or more baselines, and dynamically compare subsequent network flow performance to those baselines to determine an anomaly. When an anomaly in a network flow is detected, this information may be provided to a user along with other data regarding a business transaction that is utilizing the network flow. Concurrently with the network agent monitoring, application agents may monitor one or more applications performing the business transaction. The present system reports performance data for a business transaction in terms of application performance and network performance, all in the context of a distributed business transaction.

摘要: The execution engine is a new organization for a digital data processing apparatus for highly parallel execution of structured fine-grain parallel computations. The execution engine includes a memory for storing data and a domain flow program, a controller for requesting the domain flow program from the memory, and further for translating the program into programming information, a processor fabric for processing the domain flow programming information and a crossbar for sending tokens and the programming information to the processor fabric.

摘要: A sender uses a double-write protocol to pass data to a recipient using a dead drop network architecture. The sender sends, to a dead drop domain, a data payload to store at the dead drop domain, and receives payload access information corresponding to a payload dead drop where the payload data is stored. The sender sends, to the dead drop domain, one or more instances of metadata including the payload access information to store at the dead drop domain, and receives metadata access information corresponding to one or more metadata dead drops where the metadata is stored. The sender provides the metadata access information to one or more recipients. A recipient uses the metadata access information to read the corresponding metadata dead drop. The recipient then uses the payload access information from the metadata to read the payload dead drop and receive the payload data.

摘要: A change management system to synchronize the configuration of network management applications. Traditional network management systems are maintained by hand-entering device lists into individual network management applications with no common-ties between the different applications. Whenever a network management application is changed or upgraded, it frequently becomes necessary to insure that the upgrade is populated throughout the network in order for devices to talk to one another in an error free way. The present invention is a a system and method that automates the change management process in a real-time using a two-way communications model that permits a central database to affect changes on all or some network management applications/systems in the field, while also allowing those same field systems to affect the central database thereby reducing the time required for updating and monitoring a system when device changes take place.

摘要: System, method, and apparatus for improving the performance of collective operations in High Performance Computing (HPC). Compute nodes in a networked HPC environment form collective groups to perform collective operations. A spanning tree is formed including the compute nodes and switches and links used to interconnect the compute nodes, wherein the spanning tree is configured such that there is only a single route between any pair of nodes in the tree. The compute nodes implement processes for performing the collective operations, which includes exchanging messages between processes executing on other compute nodes, wherein the messages contain indicia identifying collective operations they belong to. Each switch is configured to implement message forwarding operations for its portion of the spanning tree. Each of the nodes in the spanning tree implements a ratcheted cyclical state machine that is used for synchronizing collective operations, along with status messages that are exchanged between nodes. Transaction IDs are also used to detect out-of-order and lost messages.

摘要: Techniques for distributing control plane traffic, from an end node in a packet switched network to a cluster of service gateway nodes that host subscriber-aware application servers, include receiving a control plane message for supporting data plane traffic from a particular subscriber. A particular service gateway node is determined among the cluster of service gateway nodes based on policy-based routing (PBR) for the data plane traffic from the particular subscriber. A message based on the control plane message is sent to a control plane process on the particular service gateway node. Thereby, data plane traffic and control plane traffic from the same subscriber are directed to the same gateway node, or otherwise related gateway nodes, of the cluster of service gateway nodes. This approach allows currently-available, hardware-accelerated PBR to be used with clusters of subscriber-aware service gateways that must also monitor control plane traffic from the same subscriber.

摘要: A Read-only storage device having network interface, a system including the device, and a method of distributing files over a network. The storage device comprises a processor communicably connected to a computer interface, a network interface, and a storage means. The processor is communicates with a computer and a file server through the computer interface and the network interface, respectively. The computer may request a file from the processor and the processor responds by either (1) providing the requested file to the computer on a read-only basis if the file is cached on the storage means, (2) obtains the file from the file server if the file is available from the file server, caches the obtained file on the storage means, and provides the obtained file to the computer on a read-only basis, or (3) returns a file unavailable notice to the computer.
