The plasticiser comprises a trimellitate ester, an aliphatic linear dicarboxylate, a dialkylthiodicarboxylate and an antioxidant. The plasticiser compositions of this invention perform well at both low and high temperatures without adversely affecting the other desirable characteristics of the rubber or elastomer being plasticised.

In a further embodiment the composition further contains a reinforcing filler such as glass or carbon fibers. In a further embodiment the composition may be made into fibers or used as adhesives.
