A body [10] threaded into the conventional oil pan drain hole [9] includes an axial passage [12] having a tubular valve [30] reciprocally mounted therein. The valve [30] is open at its lower end [34] and closed at its inner end [36] having a head [38] which seats against the inner end [16] of the body [10]. The lower end [34] of the valve [30] includes an abutment surface [48] for engagement by a drain conduit fitting for axially displacing the valve [30] inwardly to open the valve and permit flow therethrough. A cap [54] may be mounted on the body to enclose the lower end of the valve when the fitting is not in use.

A diverger (26) on the nozzle spout (14) improves flow characteristics within the tank inlet (74) to prevent immature release of the nozzle flow valve (12) and the nozzle prevents contamination during refueling and prevents spillage of volatile fuels even though unattended. An embodiment of the invention utilizes a secondary control valve (138) preventing fluid flow until the nozzle has been fully connected to the tank inlet.

An interlock (82) senses mounting of the body on the tank inlet permitting rotation of the connection sleeve in a locking direction and upon the connection sleeve being fully rotated to a locked condition a second interlock (98) permits rotation of the cam sleeve and valve movement from the closed to the open position. The cargo hook apparatus includes a pivotally supported load arm (78) maintained in its load supporting condition by a pivotally mounted latch arm (100) whose position, in turn, is controlled by a pivotally mounted latch (120). The position of the latch (120) is determined by a pivotally mounted lock arm lever (142) whose normal position is determined by a stop pin (156) and which is operated by a release mechanism (146). The interconnection between the latch (120) and lock arm lever (142) is through a cam slot (132) defined on the latch (120) receiving a lock arm lever follower (150), and the cam slot-follower relationship prevents impact forces imposed on the cargo hook structure from inadvertently producing lock arm lever rotation and latch movement.
