摘要: A rigid gas duct (1) supplies gas to an air-bag (2). The gas duct is associated with an adapter (3) formed as a tubular element. The adapter has a first end portion (4) which receives one end of the gas duct (1). An intermediate section (5) of increasing diameter extends to a second end section (6) to receive a gas generator (8). An end part (11) of the gas duct is received within the intermediate section (5) and that end part (11) of the gas duct is enlarged, as compared with the rest of the gas duct, so as to retain the gas duct within the adapter.

摘要: A safety device in a motor vehicle, the device comprising a gas generator (22), incorporating or associated with a sensor adapted to sense a side impact or a roll-over and to activate the gas generator, and an inflatable element (20) connected to the gas generator (22) to be inflated by gas from the gas generator, the inflatable element being made of fabric comprising a first layer to define the front part of the inflatable element, and a second layer to define the back part of the inflatable element, the inflatable element defining a single inflatable chamber (24) in which selected parts (25) of the first layer and the second layer are inter-connected to define points or lines where the front part and back part of the inflatable element (20) are secured together dividing the inflatable chamber (24) into a plurality of substantially parallel elongate cells, the inflatable element having a edge portion secured to part of the door fame (21) of the vehicle, the said part of the door frame being non-linear, there being a web (27) extending from the inflatable chamber (24) to the door frame, the inflatable element (20), when inflated, being positioned adjacent the door contained within the door fame (21), tension being applied to the inflatable element, on inflation thereof, by the distension of the inflatable chamber.

摘要: A lock component comprises a mounting plate (50) with apertures (51, 52) to receive screws to secure the plate in position. An intermediate resilient element (56) is mounted on the plate and has a peg (59) engaging a recess (53) on the plate to prevent rotation of the intermediate element. The intermediate element presents a collar (60) and projection (61) having an outer periphery configured to snugly engage an aperture (64) in an arm (62) which carries a lockable element (68). A connecting element (74) has a shaft (76) passing through a central aperture in the intermediate element (56), thus also extending through the aperture (64) in the arm (62). The shaft is connected to an aperture (55) formed in the mounting plate (50). The lockable element (68) has at least one degree of freedom of movement, which may be a rotational movement about the axis of the connecting element (74), or which may be a lateral movement. The lock component may be utilised with a locking arrangement so that when the lockable element (68) is engaged within the locking arrangement, the intermediate element (56) is deformed. The lock component may be used where it is difficult to provide exact tolerance, and may be used where it is desired for the lockable element to exert a resilient bias on the lock to minimise rattle.
