    摘要: A desiccant type air dryer (10) for an air supply system for a motor vehicle brake system. The air dryer incorporates features for convenient mounting and dismounting of a desiccant cartridge (12) to the air dryer body (14) assembly. This connection is achieved through the use of an externally accessible through bolt (84) which passes through the body assembly and engages a central threaded boss (44) on the load plate (34) of the dessicant cartridge. Interlocking engagement between the desiccant cartridge and body assembly prevents these parts from rotating relative to one another during mounting and dismounting of the cartridge. The desiccant cartridge is readily removed through engaging the through bolt driving head (90) using conventional tools.

    摘要: An electronic air charge controller for a tractor trailer vehicle air brake system includes a micro controller, a first pressure sensor interface coupled to the micro controller, a second pressure sensor interface coupled to the micro controller, and a vehicle control protocol interface coupled to the micro controller. The micro controller, in response to a signal received from the first pressure sensor interface indicative of an air supply recharge condition, a signal received from the second pressure sensor indicative of parking brake engagement condition, and a signal from the vehicle control protocol interface indicative of an engine start condition, supplies a maximum engine speed control signal to the vehicle control protocol interface. The time required to charge the air supply system to the required normal operating level is thereby minimized. In addition, a transmission sensor interface is preferably coupled to the micro controller. The micro controller does not generate the maximum engine speed control signal unless a signal supplied by the transmission sensor interface indicates that an automatic transmission is in park or a manual transmission is in neutral. Still further, to improve operating efficiency, a vehicle load condition signal is supplied by the vehicle control protocol interface to the micro controller. In response, the micro controller supplies a pause air compressor charging cycle signal or a pause air dryer recycle signal to the vehicle control protocol interface, if either the air compressor or air dryer is operating when a high load condition is encountered.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for graphically monitoring and controlling a vehicle anti-lock brake system is provided. Multiple types of graphical data concerning different aspects of the anti-lock brake system are simultaneously displayed to a technician. Various vehicle anti-lock brake system components, such as a retarder relay, modulators, indicator lights, and the like, are controllable through a graphical user interface, and both the presence and location of anti-lock brake system faults is graphically indicated to a technician. The method and apparatus also include graphically displaying real-time or previously recorded wheel speed data for all or selected individual wheels connected to a vehicle anti-lock brake system, alone or in combination with other graphical data, and for saving real-time wheel speed data for subsequent review. Communications data sent to and from the anti-lock brake system electronic control unit is also graphically displayed to a technician.
