摘要: A modular skid base is provided for supporting, for example, a power generation system that includes a prime mover (e.g., an engine) and a driven machine (e.g., an alternator; a generator; a compressor; a pump; a gear drive for, for example, heavy industrial applications; or any other type of load device). The modular skid base includes a pair of first support skid rails and a pair of second support skid rails. The modular skid base also includes an overlapping section that includes a portion of the second support skid rails overlapping a portion of the first support skid rails along a length direction of the modular skid base. The overlapping section can provide stiffness where required without adding height and mass to the entire modular skid base.

摘要: Process and apparatus for reducing the NOx content of a gas stream (14) containing NOx by reacting the gas stream with activated species. The activated species may be produced by providing a fluid reactant (10) selected from HNCO, NH3, and H2NNH2 and passing the fluid reactant across a catalyst (12). The activated species are believed to include free radicals selected from the group consisting of NCO2, NH2, NH, H, N, OH, NC, and mixtures thereof. The activation step (12) takes place out of contact with the gas stream, so the catalyst or other activated species generator is not exposed to the gas stream. The activation step allows the contacting step (16) and subsequent reaction of the activated species and the NOx to proceed more quickly, more completely, or at a lower temperature than would otherwise occur without the activation step.

摘要: Composition, method and apparatus for providing a surface stabilized source of HNCO by adsorbing gaseous or liquid HNCO on the surface of a substrate (12). HNCO stabilized in this manner is not reactive and is stable at or above ambient temperature. The HNCO can be provided by heating a reactant source material (10), such as urea. The substrate can be heated to release HNCO (14). The present invention is especially useful as a source of HNCO for reducing NOx in gas streams.

摘要: A process and apparatus are disclosed in which cyanuric acid is utilized to remove nitrogen oxides (or ''NOx'') from exhaust gases or the like. In one embodiemnt, particles of cyanuric acid (14) are contacted with the exhaust gas under conditions in which the cyanuric acid decomposes and the NOx is reduced. A venturi (24) is utilized to controllably convey the particles of cyanuric acid into the exhaust gas (38). Supplemental fuel such as diesel or other fuels may be added to control reaction conditions such as temperature. In other embodiments, a liquid cyanuric acid slurry is formed, with the liquid comprising diesel fuel, water or other suitable liquid. The liquid cyanuric acid slurry may be heated and/or catalyzed prior to contact with the exhaust gas. In certain embodiments, the liquid-cyanuric acid slurry is heated and/or catalyzed in a manner so as to produce decomposition products including reactive species such as free radicals, which are subsequently contacted with the exhaust gas.
