摘要: The invention provides a plastic container with a coated inner surface having superior gas barrier properties. It further provides a plastic container with a coated inner surface capable of suppressing elution of minor components from the resin, in addition to having the superior gas barrier properties. The container has on its inner surface an amorphous carbon film formed by plasma CVD from a starting material containing carbon atoms and whose main component is carbon. In the carbon film, when the number of carbon atoms contained in the film is 100, the ratio of the number of nitrogen atoms is 15 or less, or the ratio of the number of oxygen atoms is 20 or less, or the ratio of the total number of nitrogen atoms and oxygen atoms is 27 or less. Alternatively, when the number of carbon atoms contained in the film is 100, the ratio of the number of nitrogen atoms is 15 or less, the ratio of the number of oxygen atoms is 20 or less, and the ratio of the total number of nitrogen atoms and oxygen atoms is 27 or less. The amorphous carbon film exhibits an oxygen permeability of 20×10 -5 ml/day/cm 2 or less.

摘要: An easily-openable container includes a container body (9) having an open end (10) and a container end (1) including peripheral wall (5) and a pull tab (6) joined to a lower edge of the peripheral wall (5). The peripheral wall (5) is scored to provide a tear-off line (7) joined to a side edge of the pull tab (6) and is fitted over the open end (10) of the container body (9). The open end (10) of the container body (9) and the peripheral wall (5) of the container end (1) are bonded to each other through a bonded region (17). The tear-off line (7) comprises a continuous first portion (7a,7b,7c) extending from the pull tab (6) along a non-bonded region of the peripheral wall (5) above the bonded region (17), a discontinuous second portion (7d) joined to the first continuous portion and extending along the non bonded region of the peripheral wall (5) above the bonded region (17), and a third continuous portion (7e,7f,7g) joined to the second portion and extending along the non-bonded region of the peripheral wall (5) above the bonded region (17).

摘要: A can end double-seaming machine has a housing in which a shaft (6) is rotatably supported. The shaft with a seaming cam lever (c) mounted is pressed downwardly by a presser (5) against the bias of a spring (e) until the lower surface of the seaming cam lever is held against the upper surface of the housing (a). Then, an annular spacer (4) is fitted over the lower end portion of the shaft underneath, with the tubular support (6) held against a neck (bx) of the shaft. A seaming roll lever (d) is then mounted on the lower end portion of the shaft. The presser is inactivated to release the shaft, which is lifted together with the seaming cam lever, the annular spacer, and the seaming roll lever under the bias of the spring until the marginal portion (2a) of the annular spacer abuts against the lower surface of the housing. The tubular support enters the housing by a distance corresponding to a predetermined clearance. The seaming cam lever and the housing are now spaced from each other by the predetermined clearance (a).

摘要: A can end double-seaming machine has a seaming head (2) vertically movably mounted on a base (1) and supporting a seaming chuck (9) and a seaming roll (10). The seaming head (2) is guided for its vertical movement by support posts (6) on the base (1). Rotors (12) are rotatably threaded on the support posts (6) and rotatable by a motor (24) for lifting and lowering the seaming head (2). A controller (22) controls the motor (24) to elevate the seaming head (2) upwardly of a predetermined seaming position, then lower the seaming head (2) downwardly of the seaming position, and thereafter elevate the seaming head (2) to the seaming position, thereby positioning the seaming head (2) in the seaming position. Since the seaming head (2) is lowered downwardly of the seaming position and then lifted back to the seaming position, the seaming head can reliably and accurately be brought into the seaming position without a positional error which would otherwise be caused by the backlash between the rotors (12) and the support posts (6).

摘要: A can end is seamed to a cylindrical can filled with contents. The can is fed along a substantially elliptical path including straight and arcuate paths. While the can is being fed along the straight path, the can end is seamed to the can by a linear seaming device. At the same time, the can end is rotated by a can end holder which has a pinion gear held in mesh with a rack which extends fully along the elliptical path. The rack is composed of separate rack members which are relatively movable to adjust the tension of an endless chain that moves can ends and cans along the elliptical path.

摘要: A tubular member is manufactured by continuously supplying a plurality of elongate flexible webs (U,X,Y,Z) while transversely disaligning side edges of the webs, such that the webs are arranged in echelon, progressively wrapping the webs around a mandrel (M), bonding the webs with adhesive layers interposed therebetween to form a tubular member, and joining the displaced side edges to complete the tubular member. The webs are supplied in mutually spaced-apart relation under longitudinal tension. A plurality of resilient support plate members (3) are disposed respectively for the webs and arranged to lie along the lower surfaces of the webs transversely thereof. Opposite ends (19,20) of the support plate members are supported for movement vertically and toward and away from each other. The opposite ends of the support plate members are movable towards each other to curve the support members along an outer peripheral surface of the mandrel (M). A positioning device has a pair of guide members (4,5) mounted on an inner surface of each of the support plate members for engaging opposite side edges of one of the webs.

摘要: The present invention provides an spparatus for cutting an elongate member, the apparatus comprising a plurality of cutter carriers (3) which are distributed longitudinally of the elongate member, the elongate member and the cutter carriers (3) being movable in the axial direction of the elongate member while cutters (1) on the cutter carriers (3) are operative to cut the elongate member, characterised in that an electric motor (19) is provided for displacing the cutter carriers, and electronic control means (23) is provided for controlling the motor such that, in use of the apparatus to cut an elongate member, the cutters are made operative when the cutters and the elongate member are in predetermined relative positions and, when the elongate member hes been cut, the cutter carriers are returned to their original positions.
The invention allows more accurate cutting of the elongate member, reducing waste, and is also more reliable, smalter, and cheaper.
