摘要:
A rotary anti-pullback unit is provided which comprises a rotor (22) and a frame (43) for rotatably supporting the rotor (22). Rotor (22) comprises a plurality of disks (25) arranged coaxially in a line and in axially spaced relation to each other, and a plurality of fletched fins (26) axially protruding from at least one radial surface (25a) of disks (25) toward an opposite radial surface (25a) of the other adjoining spaced disk (25). Rotor (22) is rotated concurrently with a bill (70) transported along each outer periphery of disks (25) in contact to transported bill (70) to radially inwardly move a flexible extracting tool (71) connected to bill (70), and bring tool (71) into tangled engagement with fin or fins (26) in order to prevent unduly extraction of bill (70).

A sheet discriminating device, wherein, when a starting element (6) is switched on, a self-holding circuit (5) is switched to a conduction state from a non-conduction state to allow a battery (1) to supply power to a drive control device (2), a discrimination sensor (4) and a conveying device (3) via the self-holding circuit (5). When not in use, the self-holding circuit (5) is switched to a non-conduction state to restrict a battery (1) power consumption, thereby extending a battery (1) replacing timing or a charging cycle and significantly prolonging a battery life.

A rotary body (40) which is provided with a slit aligned with a transfer passage (3) in an initial position, and is fixed rotatably, a driving unit (70) for rotating the rotary body (40), and a discrimination control circuit (50) adapted to judge that a bank note is a real or counterfeit one on the basis of the output from discriminating sensors (34, 35), and control the rotary body driving unit (70), are provided in a bank note discriminating apparatus. The discrimination control circuit (50) is adapted to turn the rotary body (40) by the rotary body driving unit (70) after a bank note has passed through the slit (41) of the rotary body (40), wind a drawing means connected to the bank note around the outer periphery of the rotary body (40), measure the rotational speed of the rotary body (40) and detect a false bank note drawing means.

An optical sensing device for detecting plural optical features of valuable papers is provided that comprises first and second photocoupers 5 and 6 or 9 and 10 positioned in the vicinity of and on the opposite sides of a passageway 13 for guiding the valuable paper 64. Each of first and second photocouplers 5 and 6 or 9 and 10 has a light emitting element 20, 22, 30, 32 for emitting a light, and a light receiving element 21, 23, 31, 33 for selectively receiving the light from the light emitting element 20 so that each light receiving element 21, 23, 31, 33 can receive lights reflected on and penetrating the valuable paper 64 for detection of multiple optical features from the valuable paper 64. Thus, the optical sensing device can derive plural optical scanning patterns by means of less number of light emitting and receiving elements to improve accuracy in valuable paper validation; can pick out optical patterns for different colors printed on valuable paper by means of plural lights of different wavelength irradiated on a same scan line or area on valuable paper; and can utilize inexpensive light emitting and receiving elements to reduce cost for manufacture.

A bill handling apparatus is provided that comprises an i ntelligent cash box system for transmitting information from a validator 2 to a stacker 4. The intelligent cash box system comprises a card 3 bearing a code recorded on the card 3 for identifying the bill handling apparatus, and an intelligent storage 5 provided in the stacker 4. The card 3 can be inserted into an inlet 11 of the validator 2 to detect the code by a detection sensor 45 and store the code in a control circuit 47 as code information. Bill information includes data of the bills received in a storage chamber 30 of the stacker 4 and is transmitted from the control circuit 47 to the intelligent storage 5. The intelligent storage 5 is in communication with the control circuit 47 of the validator 2 to receive the code information and bill information from the control means 47 and store these information in the intelligent storage 5. The code information identifies the bill handling apparatus from which the stacker 4 is removed, and the bill information enables to collate an amount of collected bills in a plurality of stackers 4 with an amount of bills considered genuine and stored in the stackers 4.

A device for discriminating valuable papers comprises a battery 1; a self-holding circuit 5 connected between battery 1 and drive controller 2 and capable of being switched between an active condition for supplying electric power to validation sensor 4 and drive controller 2 from battery 1 and an inactive condition for interrupting the power supply; a trigger element 6 for switching self-holding circuit 5 in the inactive condition to the active condition; and a shutoff circuit 7 having a control terminal connected to drive controller 2 for switching self-holding circuit 5 in the active condition to the inactive condition. Inactive condition of self-holding circuit 5 during the disuse period, saves electric power to extend service life and exchange cycle of battery 1.
