摘要： Various technologies described herein pertain to joining a computing device in a local network to a community Wi-Fi network. The community Wi-Fi network includes disparate computing devices that share respective network bandwidth capacities with member consumer devices of the community Wi-Fi network. The computing device receives an opt-in signal indicating that the computing device desirably be added to the community Wi-Fi network. Responsive to receiving the opt-in signal, the computing device retrieves account parameters. The account parameters include data indicating a network bandwidth capacity allocated to the account, which is usable by the computing device. A shared portion of the network bandwidth capacity is determined based at least in part upon the parameters of the account. The computing device is configured to share the shared portion of the network bandwidth capacity for consumption by member consumer device(s). The computing device communicates with the member consumer device(s) over a Wi-Fi connection.

An example device may provide a user interface that provides a single coherent view of the in-service state (e.g., in-service, out-of-service) of members of the collection of servers. The example device may also provide a request monitor that selectively blocks a membership request to a target device when the membership request will cause the set of functionalities to be suspended. If a service manager tries to take the only in-service server out-of-service, the action may be selectively blocked and the service manager may receive a notification of the potential result of the action. Taking a server out-of-service may include stopping messages from flowing to the server.

摘要： A user terminal for participating in video calls comprises: an encoder having a frame size, being the size in pixels at which it encodes frames of video; and a pre-processing stage which supplies a sequence of frames to the encoder at that frame size, each frame comprising at least an image region representing a source video image at a respective moment in time. The pre-processing stage is configured to supply at least some of the frames to the encoder in a modified form, by resizing the source video image to produce the image region of each modified frame with a size smaller than the frame size of the encoder, and combining with a border region such that the modified frame matches the frame size of the encoder. The encoder encodes the frames at the frame size and transmits them to a receiving terminal as part of a live video call.

The message indicates that a media device has detected the identifier, and also comprises information of the media device. The processing component is configured to process the message received from the network to enable transfer of at least part of the experience to the media device.

Enacted on a computing system, the method includes receiving an image of the user's body from an image-capture component. Based on the image, a posable, three-dimensional, virtual avatar is constructed to substantially resemble the user. In this example method, data is obtained that identifies the wearable article as being selected for the user. This data includes a plurality of metrics that at least partly define the wearable article. Then, a virtualized form of the wearable article is attached to the avatar, which is provided to a display component for the user to review.

摘要： A "Zero-Touch Manager" ("ZTM") supplies updates to device firmware, operating system (OS), frameworks, applications, etc., from cloud-based or other network-accessible storage. These updates ensure that groups of "identical" devices (i.e., devices having the same hardware version) run from the same known state, while maintaining local customizations for individual devices. The ZTM uses sector-level differences to generate differential update versions ("diffs") of Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) images of planned update versions relative to local hard drive images of each device's current version. Consequently, updates to the local hard drive image are achieved by replacing sectors of the local hard drive image that have corresponding changed sectors in the diff, though additional information may also be included in the diff. "Manifest" files are used in combination with the diffs to control device updates based upon the current version of the local hard drive image relative to update versions in the diff.

摘要： A resource allocation framework is described herein which allocates items (conceptualized as balls) to item-receiving slots (conceptualized as bins) in a domain-agnostic manner. A user instantiates the resource allocation framework to a particular allocation problem by generating a specification that describes the allocation problem in a declarative fashion. Among other features, the specification maps real-world entities to the balls and bins, and describes the constraints associated with the allocation problem. The specification also provides a utilization function that computes the consumption of resources for a proposed assignment of a particular ball to a particular bin. According to another aspect, the resource allocation framework uses many processing elements (e.g., GPU threads, CPU threads, etc.), operating in parallel, to attempt to find a solution to the allocation problem. In this search for a solution, the resource allocation framework operates in any combination of an explore mode and an exploit mode.
