Pressing he catch 18 moves the projection 16, 16a upward allowing the nibs 10, 10a to release from the hooks 15, 15a whereby the lid 2 opens due to the restoring force of the elastic member 4.

Lid segment hooks (13, 26) are engagable with hook receivers on the enclosure to secure the lid segments (7, 8) in position over the open top of the enclosure. The links (9) allow sliding movement of the lid segments (7, 8) to release the lid hooks (13, 26) from the hook receivers and allow pivoting movement of the lid segments (7, 8) to rest positions to uncover the open top of the enclosure. Securement means (20, 23) is provided to prevent sliding movement of the lid segments (7, 8).

Demounting of the panels (7, 9) coupled to the rails (5) is normally prevented until the panels (6, 8) coupled to the posts (10) have been demounted from the base (2).

A flower pot (1) which decomposes, when buried in the soil (3) to form a fertiliser, the pot (1) being formed by mixing a biodegradable polymer with dried and pulverised animal or plant waste. In an embodiment about 100 parts by volume vegetable waste (80 to 90% water content) is mixed with about 60 parts by volume adjusting material (15% water content) and the mixture heated and fermented with the addition of a soil borne fungi (bacillus uchishiro), the mixture being agitated for 7 to 8 hours at a temperature of 75°C, and thereafter dried to a water content less that 1% and pulverised, after which a biodegradable polymer is added in a proportion of 35% by weight the mixture being agitated to form a moulding consistency.

A bed sheet 30 is formed from two superposed layers of plastics material joined by welding along side margins 31 and 32 and at each end 31a and 32a. This then forms a sealed chamber. The sides 31 and 32 may include spaced pads or eyelets 33 for securing straps. The central part of the sheet 30 has a matrix of circular weld zones 34 which join together opposed portions of each side of the sheet with the spaces between the welds forming air-filled passageways. A characteristic is the wide spacing between each weld zone and the relative flatness of the air filled capsules thus formed. The capsules may be air-filled and sealed but in a preferred version each capsule is connected to an adjacent neighbour by an integral air duct thus permitting air to flow and pressure to equalise between the capsules when subject to compression. For storage the capsules may be deflated and inflated as required for use through an air inlet valve 35.
