Dargestellt und beschrieben ist ein Verfahren zur Datenübertragung zwischen Messeinrichtungen (5) und einer Datenverarbeitungseinrichtung (3, 3') in einem Messdatenerfassungssystem (1, 1'), wobei das Verfahren Folgendes umfasst: Wiederholtes Durchführen von Austauschschritten durch den Controller (7, 7'), wobei ein Austauschschritt das Empfangen analoger Messsignale von den Messeinrichtungen (5) und/oder das digitale Austauschen digitaler Nachrichten zwischen den Messeinrichtungen (5) und dem Controller (7, 7') umfasst und wobei die Austauschschritte in einem vorgegebenen zeitlichen Abstand begonnen werden, Senden eines digitalen Datenpakets durch die Datenverarbeitungseinrichtung (3, 3') an den Controller (7, 7'), wobei das digitale Datenpaket die Kennung von einer aus der Vielzahl von Messeinrichtungen (5) und eine digitale Nachricht enthält, Extrahieren der Kennung aus dem digitalen Datenpaket durch den Controller (7, 7') und Senden der digitalen Nachricht an die eine aus der Vielzahl von Messeinrichtungen (5) durch den Controller (7, 7') nach Beendigung des digitalen Austauschens.

Proposed is a method of optical data transmission. Data bits are transmitted in the form of data symbols, by modulating an optical signal in dependence on the data bits and in accordance with two or more constellation schemes. The data bits are transmitted, by generating first data symbols, which represent respective sets of data bits containing an even number of data bits. The first data symbols are generated, by modulating the optical signal in accordance with a first constellation scheme. Furthermore, the data bits are transmitted, by generating second data symbols, which represent respective sets of data bits having an odd number of data bits. The second data symbols are generated, by modulating the optical signal in accordance with a second constellation scheme. The first and the second data symbols are generated at a predefined symbol rate, such that the first and the second data symbols are interleaved in time.

Proposed is a method of optical data transmission using a soft-decision error decoding scheme. An information word and a pre-defined bit-word are concatenated, yielding an extended information word. A code word is derived, by FEC encoding the extended information word, using a first systematic FEC encoding scheme. The resulting code word contains the provided information word, the pre-defined bit-word and the first parity word. A modified code word is derived, by FEC encoding the information word and the first parity word, using a second systematic FEC encoding scheme. The resulting modified code word contains the information word, a second parity word and the first parity word. This is due to the fact that the second FEC encoding scheme is a systematic encoding scheme. Finally, the modified code word is transmitted using a phase modulated optical signal. Further steps are carried out at the receiving side.
