摘要: A wound therapy system includes a negative pressure circuit configured to apply negative pressure to a wound, a pump fluidly coupled to the negative pressure circuit and operable to control the negative pressure within the negative pressure circuit, a pressure sensor configured to measure the negative pressure within the negative pressure circuit or at the wound and a controller communicably coupled to the pump and the pressure sensor. The controller is configured to execute a pressure testing procedure including applying a pressure stimulus to the negative pressure circuit, observe a dynamic pressure response of the negative pressure circuit to the pressure stimulus using pressure measurements recorded by the pressure sensor, and estimate a wound volume of the wound based on the dynamic pressure response.

摘要: A reduced-pressure system for delivering reduced pressure for medical purposes to a desired site and to receive fluids in one instance includes a reservoir having an interior space operable to contain the fluids. A reduced-pressure delivery conduit is placed in fluid communication with the interior space for delivering the reduced pressure to the desired site. A source conduit and a pressure sensor conduit are placed in fluid communication with the interior space. A pressure sensor is placed in fluid communication with the pressure sensor conduit. A reduced-pressure source is placed in fluid communication with the source conduit. A reduced- pressure control unit is associated with the pressure sensor and the reduced-pressure source and is operable to receive pressure data from the pressure sensor and supply data from the reduced- pressure source and to determine when a reservoir-full/blockage condition exists. Other systems and methods are presented.

摘要: A system is illustratively described herein that generally comprises a vacuum chamber, an ambient pressure chamber, a valve configured for unidirectional flow from the vacuum chamber to the ambient pressure chamber during a charging stroke, and a liquid filter configured to retain liquid in the pump. In some embodiments, the liquid filter is configured to retain liquid in the vacuum chamber during the charging stroke. In other embodiments, it may be configured to retain liquid in the ambient pressure chamber during an operating stroke. In more particular embodiments, a piston may be disposed between the vacuum chamber and the ambient pressure chamber, a passage may fluidly couple the vacuum chamber and the ambient pressure chamber, and the valve can be configured to control fluid flow through the passage. Additionally, a lumen may couple the vacuum chamber to a dressing to deliver negative pressure to the dressing in some illustrative embodiments.
