Scanner for magnetic tape testing comprises of a rigid body (9); aforesaid inductor of eddy currents as such and the source (4) of pulse current, which are mounted on said body (9). These closely coupled devices have heightened sensitivity to the surface defects in electroconductive (especially nonferromagnetic) articles and secure high resolving capacity of magnetic tape testing.
