摘要： A mobile invalid hoist comprises a non-rectilinear lifting arm 12 pivotably connected about first horizontal axis W to the upper end of mast 11, a housing 23 pivotably connected about second horizontal axis X to one end of the lifting arm 12 and supporting a vertical bearing 24, a sling hanger support 25 pivotably supported about a vertical or substantially vertical axis Y by the bearing 24, and a sling hanger 26 pivotably supported about a third horizontal axis Z by the sling hanger support 25. A flexible elongate element 27 is connected between the mast 11 and housing 23, and is guided through the lifting arm 12 to effectively form with the lifting arm 12 a parallelogram linkage. Thus, as the lifting arm 12 pivots, the housing 23 pivots in relation to the lifting arm 12 and the bearing 24 is kept vertical or substantially vertical.

摘要： An invalid hoist comprises a telescopic mast (11) having a lower part (18) and an upper part (19), power operated means for raising and lowering the upper part relative to the lower part, a lifting arm (12) pivotably connected to the upper part of the mast, the lifting arm having a sling hanger (23) or at least one sling attachment point at or adjacent to one end thereof, and a manually extendible/retractable stay (30) between the lifting arm and the lower mast part. The lifting arm is pivotally connected to the upper part of the mast at a position intermediate its ends and the extendible/retractable stay is connected to the lifting arm on the side of the pivotable connection between the lifting arm and the upper part of the mast remote from said one end of the lifting arm. The stay can be extended, if the power operated means fails with the upper part of the mast in a raised position, to lower a user to a position in which he/she can be released from a sling supported by the lifting arm. It can also be extended, when the upper mast part is in its lowermost position, to move the lifting arm to a storage position alongside the telescopic mast.

A rotary drive mechanism 31 is provided for pivoting the sling hanger about said horizontal axis relative to the sling hanger support and switch means are provided for selectively rotating the rotary drive means in one or other of two opposite directions. The sling hanger support is of generally inverted U-shape configuration having a cross member 22 and two parallel or substantially parallel limbs 23 and 24 depending from the cross member. The sling hanger is pivotably connected to the lower ends of the depending limbs and the rotary drive mechanism comprises a power unit 34 supported by the sling hanger support at or adjacent to the cross member and a transmission system 37 connecting the power unit to the sling hanger for pivoting the sling hanger relative to the sling hanger support.
