The desk may also have a backplane (60) located in a slot (26) of the frame (12). A portable transporter computer (28) can be plugged into the backplane (60) to couple the transporter (28) with the screen (22) and keyboard (20). A battery module (32) may also be plugged into the frame (12) to power the transporter (28), screen (22) and keyboard (20). When the desk (10) is not in use the battery module (32) can be plugged into a charging station (110) to recharge the batteries of the module (32).
