A snap-in unit for an electrical connector comprising a body (10) arranged to accomodate a standard connector. The socket including the connector is substantially rigid and with a quadratic cross section, and locking means (20) are provided on at least two side surfaces (12, 14), said locking means being adapted to co-operate with other locking means (34) in connection with a rigid plate (30) with a quadratic aperture (32) to accomodate the quadratic socket of the snap-in unit (10) in such a way that the front face of the snap-in unit is substantially parallel to the front surface of the plate. The associated plate is provided with locking means along the rim of the quadratic aperture on the rear side of the plate. Said connector can be mounted in four different ways by turning said connector because the locking means are identical on all four side surfaces.

An electric switch with a set of stationary contact means and a set of movable contact means situated on a contact bridge (30) movable between an IN-position and an OUT-position comprises furthermore a forcibly guiding mechanism (32) for manual handling of the contact bridge (30) as well as an ejector mechanism (56) and a trip device (74) co-operating with said ejector mechanism, whereby the contact bridge (30) is automatically displaced from its IN-position to its OUT-position when an overloading, a fault or a signal current is present. The forcibly guiding mechanism (32) and the contact bridge (30) are interconnected by means of a releasable blocking device in such a manner that the ejector mechanism (56) in the releasing situation need only overcome frictional forces between the stationary and the movable contact means as said blocking device is released by means of the trip device (74). Furthermore the forcibly guiding mechanism (32) and the ejector mechanism (56) co-operate in such a manner that the latter containing an energy reservoir such as for instance a spring (64) is automatically reset before the contact bridge (30) can be forced to the IN-position. The forcibly guiding mechanism (32) - in the form of an elbow joint - moves between two extreme positions and during said movement it passes a dead centre. Furthermore it comprises a tilting spring (40) the content of potential energy of which after the passage of the dead centre is utilized for charging the energy reservoir (64) of the ejector mechanism (56).

A door for enclosed electric sw i tchboards disposed to co-operate with a substantially plane door frame (12) is box-shaped having an intact front plate (1) and four side walls (5) at right angles thereto. The side walls are all, for optional positioning of hinging and locking elements, provided at regular intervals with blanks (4) to be punched out when utilised. To prevent water and dust from penetrating into the switchboards the frame (12) is provided with a gasket or a sealing strip (P) which is mounted in a small recess (17) on the frame. The side walls (5) are partly bent inwardly so that the outermost edge (13) thereof, in the closed position of the door, compresses the gasket (P) linearly and centrally thereof.

A pair of pliers may be used to pull the strip (4) out of the cabinet wall (1), whereby the blank proper is also removed.

In a programmable electric timer with a display (18) for digital displaying (28) of the actual time the display has been extended by a symbol field (24) including a plurality of symbols and a movable symbol field cursor (26). This cursor can be moved by means of a manually operated function shift means (40, 50). The display comprises furthermore a time scale (20) covering a number of the 24 hours of the day, optionally all of them, and associated with a movable cursor (22). This cursor (22) can be moved quickly or slowly by means of a manually operated advancing means (44, 46, 50, 54). Finally a manually operated advancing means (42, 44, 46, 52, 54) is provided for the storing of encoded switching times and switching intervals and for a simultaneous graphic indication by way of the time scale (20) on the display (18) of said times and intervals. In this manner the timer is easy to use and the user achieves a graphic view of actual switching times and intervals.
