摘要: Artificial snow is made by cooling water-carrying conduits (16) below 0 °C so that ice crystals form on the inner surfaces of the conduits. The conduits are made from canvas, lined internally with a thin flexible impervious plastic or rubber coating. Two orthogonal sets of spaced parallel rollers (26, 27) travel along the outside of the conduits, thereby deforming the conduits and dislodging the ice crystals from the inner surfaces. The dislodged ice crystals are carried with the water in the conduits to an outlet pipe where they are separated from the water and spread on the ground as artificial snow.

摘要: A snow making method, suitable for making man-made snow for ski-runs or ski-slopes, uses a snow making machine, where ice is converted into snow-like particles and directed in an upwardly-directed stream, into which a spray or mist of water droplets is introduced. The snow-like particles operate as nucleating agents for the water droplets to convert the droplets into flakes of snow.
The flakes of snow may be introduced into the snow making machine, converted into snow-like particles and be incorporated into the stream to produce further flakes of snow. The flakes of snow can be "recycled" to the snow making machine until the desired quantity of snow has been produced.
The method enables snow to be made at ambient air temperatures just above, or below, the freezing point of water.-

摘要: A frozen beverage device to convert a liquid beverage into a semi-frozen or frozen form has inner and outer walls forming a refrigerant cavity containing a refrigerant material with a freezing point below the freezing point of the liquid, the refrigerant material occupying at least 80% of the volume of the refrigerant cavity. The outer wall has a base portion which can be moved from a first position, where the liquid is at least semi-frozen, to a second position where the internal pressure in the refrigerant cavity urges the inner wall outwardly towards the outer wall so that the refrigerant material contacts a maximum area of the surface of the inner wall in the refrigerant cavity for maximum heat transfer and to minimise constriction of access to the frozen beverage. Alternative methods to seal the inner and outer walls to close the refrigerant cavity are also disclosed.

摘要: On produit de la neige artificielle en refroidissant, à une température inférieure à 0 °C, des canalisations d'eau de manière que de la glace se forme sur la surface intérieure de celles-ci. Les canalisations sont réalisées en toile et doublées d'un revêtement mince et étanche en plastique ou caoutchouc. Deux ensembles orthogonaux de rouleaux parallèles (26, 27) passent à l'extérieur des canalisations, les déformant ainsi et faisant tomber les cristaux de glace accrochés aux surfaces intérieures. Les cristaux de glace ainsi déplacés sont acheminés avec l'eau dans les canalisations jusqu'à un tuyau de sortie où ils sont séparés de l'eau et répandus sur le sol sous forme de neige artificielle.
