摘要： The present invention provides compositions containing a mixture of cholesterol sulfate and an exfoliant. The exfoliant can be N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, N-acetylgalactosamine, or a combination thereof. The combination of the cholesterol sulfate with the exfoliant surprisingly enhances the skin barrier even though the activity of each of the components is opposite the other. In addition, because of the ability to enhance or repair the skin barrier function, methods of improving or maintaining a healthy skin barrier are included in the present invention by applying to the skin an effective amount of the mixture of cholesterol sulfate with the exfoliant. The mixture can also be useful in treating or preventing damage to the skin, where the damage is caused by a compromised skin barrier function. As a result of improving the skin barrier function with the combination of cholesterol sulfate and the exfoliant, the appearance of lines and wrinkles is generally reduced; rough and dry skin conditions are also improved.

摘要： The present invention relates to a gelled cosmetic emulsion comprising an oil phase, an aqueous phase and a gelling system which contains at least one non-siloxane based polyamide in a sufficient amount to gel the emulsion. The polyamide can have an ester, acid, tertiary amide, or amine terminal end group. The emulsion is stabilized with a sugar-based emulsion stabilizer. The emulsions of the present invention are substantially transparent and when colorants are added the color is especially bright and clear. The emulsions are used in lipstick and mascara products as well as other gel and stick products.

Alternatively, the applicator tip may be molded and then flocked and then attached to the body. 摘要： The present invention provides a container (1) for a pasty cosmetic product which permits access by the consumer to a larger percentage of the contained product than has typically been possible in the traditional container. The present invention comprises a hollow container having a wall, wherein the wall defines an internal chamber and at least a portion of the wall is flexible. The container has a neck (5) which provides access to the internal chamber. An applicator (3) projects into the container and is attached to a cap (2) which closes the container about the neck (5). Squeezing the flexible portions of the container (1) permits the user to deposit otherwise inaccessible product onto the applicator (3), thereby avoiding waste of product adhered to the inner wall of the container (1).
