    摘要: The present invention provides improvements to prior art audio codecs that generate a stereo-illusion through post-processing of a received mono signal. These improvements are accomplished by extraction of stereo-image describing parameters at the encoder side, which are transmitted and subsequently used for control of a stereo generator at the decoder side. Furthermore, the invention bridges the gap between simple pseudo-stereo methods, and current methods of true stereo-coding, by using a new form of parametric stereo coding. A stereo-balance parameter is introduced, which enables more advanced stereo modes, and in addition forms the basis of a new method of stereo-coding of spectral envelopes, of particular use in systems where guided HFR (High Frequency Reconstruction) is employed. As a special case, the application of this stereo-coding scheme in scalable HFR-based codecs is described.

    摘要: The method involves filtering a low band signal through the analysis part of a digital filter bank and obtaining a set of subband signals. A number of the subband signals are patched from consecutive channels of the filter bank to consecutive channels in the synthesis part of a digital filter bank. Each of the subband signals is patched from a channel with frequency index k to a channel with frequency index j not equal to k. The patched subband signals are adjusted in accordance to a desired spectral envelope. The adjusted subband signals are filtered through the synthesis part of a digital filter bank. An envelope adjusted and frequency translated or folded signal is obtained. An Independent claim is included for an apparatus for enhancement of source coding systems using high-frequency reconstruction techniques.

The invention teaches that tonal signals can be classified as either pulse-train-like or non-pulse-train-like.     摘要: A parameter representation of a multi-channel signal having several original channels includes a parameter set, which, when used together with at least one down-mix channel allows a multi-channel reconstruction. An additional level parameter is calculated such that an energy of the at least one downmix channel weighted by the level parameter is equal to a sum of energies of the original channels. The additional level parameter is transmitted to a multi-channel reconstructor together with the parameter set or together with a down-mix channel. An apparatus for generating a multi-channel representation uses the level parameter to correct the energy of the at least one transmitted down-mix channel before entering the down-mix signal into an up-mixer or within the up-mixing process.
