摘要: An audio distribution system comprises a plurality of individual signal conditioning circuits connected in series. Each circuit comprises a signal conditioning unit to which an audio input (13) is fed. The output from the unit is fed to a precision signal addition device. Each circuit also comprises a balanced line level input (11), which is fed to a balanced to unbalanced precision signal converter the output of which is connected to the precision signal addition device. The output from the precision signal addition device is fed to an unbalanced to balanced converter which provides at its output a balanced line level signal (12). As compared with a conventional distribution system, the system enables only one balanced line level input to amplification equipment eliminating any mixing or control means that equipment and obtaining the need for a conventional mixer.

摘要: A correction system 1 for a detector of a fire system, the correction system 1 comprising: a calculation unit 2 operable to calculate the n + 1 th order differential (wherein n is a whole number and n ≥ 1 ) of an output of a sensor 5 of the detector with respect to time; a measurement unit 3 operable to measure the n + 1 th order differential to determine the extent of an initial curvature of a line of the output of a sensor 5 of the detector with respect to time and a correction unit 4 operable to correct an output of the sensor 5 based on the measurement. The correction system 1 can compensate for impairment of the sensor 5 and results in more accurate sensor 5 readings (and accordingly a more useful fire system).

摘要: An unknown series resistance 160a,b in a circuit, such as a fire alarm circuit, is measured by: connecting the circuit to a charged capacitor 211; measuring the voltage across the load terminals 301a,b; forcing a known current through the circuit and, whilst forcing the known current, measuring the voltage across the load at two points in time; using these measured voltages to derive, by extrapolation, the voltage across the load at an earlier time at which current was being forced across the load; determining the difference between the derived voltage at the earlier point in time and the voltage when no current is forced across the load; and using this difference and the known current to determine the unknown series resistance. The method may be implemented by an end of line device 300. The capacitor may be connected across the terminals of a power supply to which the circuit is connected 110.
