    摘要： A method of processing contaminated mill scale, comprises: combining the scale with water; subjecting the scale to one or more stages of attrition; and adding one or more chemical agents, such as a surfactant, to the scale. In another aspect, a method of processing contaminated mill sludge, comprises: diluting the sludge with water; subjecting it to attrition using a jet pump; treating it by electro coagulation; and separating ferrous material from the contaminants. In a further aspect, a method of treating by-products of a steel production process, comprises: separating the materials on the basis of density, and magnetically beneficiating part of the materials that have been separated. Another method is directed to treating contaminated slag, comprising: separating it by particle size; subjecting at least part of it to attrition in a flow of water; and magnetically separating at least part of it. A method of making a load bearing material is also claimed, the method comprising: mixing a waste material, water, an absorbing agent and a cementitious material; the cementitious material comprising 2-75% calcium oxide, 0.5-­35% alumina, 0.1-40% silica, and 0-50% other components; and adding water to the mixture to adjust the viscosity.

    摘要： A balling machine 100 and method for use in the manufacture of aggregate. The machine comprises a rotatable tube having an inlet end and an outlet end, an internal mixing device disposed within the rotatable tube 102, the mixing device having movable elements that are disposed in a lower region of the rotatable tube and are drivingly movable relative to the rotatable tube. Preferably the mixing device comprises paddles and/or blades mounted on a rotatable shaft. A scraper can be used to prevent build up of material on the internal surface of the tube. A further method and arrangement comprises providing aggregate proximate the underground utility, wherein the aggregate has a colour which is in contrast to the colour of the local underground environment.
