摘要： A technique is provided to monitor the operation of a lubrication apparatus (2), which is connected to provide a pulsating flow of lubricant on a lubrication path (4) to a lubrication point (1a) of a machine (1). A monitoring system comprises a pressure sensor (10) configured to provide a pressure signal representing measured fluid pressure in the lubrication path (4), and a calculation arrangement (5) configured to process pressure data in the pressure signal for detection of pulses, and to determine an operating status of the lubrication apparatus (2) based on the detected pulses. The system may be installed with minimum modification of existing lubrication systems and is capable of detecting over- and under-lubrication based on the number of detected pulses, quantifying lubrication per unit time, estimating remaining lubricant in a lubricant supply (3), etc.
