    摘要： The invention relates to a device for supplying small livestock, in particular poultry with drinking water, said device comprising a pipe (1) with several self-closing drinking elements or drinking nipples (2), said nipple pipe being connected to a water supply with a drain trough (3) being disposed under the nipple pipe, while the nipple pipe together with the drain trough is adjustable in height and that means (4) are present which in the lowest position of the nipple pipe fill the drain trough with water to a particular desired maximum height, so that the drain trough in that position is always filled with water and can serve as a drinking fountain for chicks.
    The means comprise an element which hold one drinking nipple (2) in the open position and consists that operating element of the drinking nipple of a lever, which is fastened so as to be tiltable or rotatable about a shaft (7) which is situated rotatably on either side in holes, each of which is located in one of the walls of a housing or float housing (6) which housing is fastened to the nipple pipe and the lever consists of both an arm (9) which extends at the one side on the tilting shaft and whose extremity is provided with a floating element (10), and an arm (11) which extends at the other side from the side of the shaft and whose extremity can operate a nipple pin (12) of a nipple (2).

    摘要： The invention relates to a method and a device for very accurately metering a quantity by weight of food for being supplied to small livestock, such as poultry, which small livestock is present in a number of cages (1) placed one behind the other. The outflow of food from a food hopper (6) filled with food, can be stop the moment when is determined that the receiving trough (13) contains a sufficient quantity of food.
    This quantity of food corresponds to a certain desired quantity of food per animal multiplied by the number of animals to be fed. After the receiving trough (13) has been filled it is emptied for example into a feed trough (2). The preference the device is provided with a sensor (29) or the like which can scan an indicator (30) which can be fastened to a cage (1), which indicator (30) emits a signal indicating the number of animals present in that cage (1).
