    摘要: A gas pressure regulator for controlling the pressure of gas, e.g. liquefied natural or petroleum gas, supplied to gas utilising means from a container of pressurised, e.g. liquefied, gas includes, in a gas supply passage (50), a valve assembly (1) for controlling flow of gas in the passage. The valve assembly comprises a body (2) defining an inlet (3) and an outlet (4) for gas, a main pressure responsive valve (9) for controlling commun­ication between the inlet and outlet and which is arranged to be maintained open for so long as the pressure of gas at the inlet (3) is above a predetermined level and to close and remain closed when the pressure is below the predetermined level, and an auxiliary valve (11) which is manually operable to open communication between the inlet (3) and the outlet (4) when the inlet pressure is below the predetermined level and the main valve (9) is closed. The valve assembly may comprise a generally cylin­drical body (2) having a transverse wall (12) between the inlet and the outlet and provided with two openings (8, 10), one controlled by a pressure responsive main valve member (9) movable axially towards and away from the opening (8) in dependence on the pressure and the other controlled by an auxiliary valve member (11) manually rotatable about the axis of the body to open and close the opening (10). In use, the main valve is arranged to cut off the flow of gas to the utilising means before the container is exhausted to warn the user that the container is nearly empty and needs replenishing. The flow of gas can be re­instated, while a replacement container is being organ­ised, by manual operation of the auxiliary valve means.

    摘要: The sensor is adapted for sensing relative displacement of a relatively movable body and is advant­ageously sensitive to displacements of the order of or less than 1 mm or is sensitive to displacements caused by forces or pressures or changes in force or pressure of the order of or less than 10 millibar. The sensor (1) comprises an elongate member (16) longitudinally slidable in a housing (33) in dependence on the relative displace­ment of the body (10). The elongate member has a longit­udinal engagement surface provided for example with teeth (18) which engage with teeth provided on the periphery of a rotatable member (19) mounted for rotation in the housing. The rotatable member is associated with an arm (21) which may carry an indicator (23) at its end which is movable with rotation of the rotatable member over a scale (22). The assembly comprising the elongate member, the rotatable member and the arm is arranged to be substantially balanced about the axis of the rotatable member with a slight resultant force on the elongate member tending to move it in the direction of the body, the resultant force being less than the force on the body causing the displacement to be sensed by the sensor. For this purpose, the assembly may include a spring (25) acting for example on the rotatable member about its axis for counterbalancing any imbalance in the moments of the elongate member and arm about the axis of the rotatable member.
