    摘要: Disclosed are a system and a method for transmitting information from a synthetic aperture radar satellite to a client receiver. In one aspect, the synthetic aperture radar satellite includes a processing unit configured to form information from a previously measured synthetic aperture radar raw data stored in a data storage; a modulator configured to modulate the information to a synthetic aperture radar transmission signal; a transmitter for transmitting the modulated synthetic aperture radar transmission signal. The processing unit is configured to suppress the modulation from a received echo signal of the modulated synthetic aperture radar transmission signal to form and store a synthetic aperture radar raw data in the data storage. The client receiver includes an antenna for receiving the transmitted modulated synthetic aperture radar transmission signal; and a demodulator configured to demodulate the received transmitted modulated synthetic aperture radar transmission signal to obtain the information.

    摘要: A method for monitoring wildfire progression is provided, comprising the steps: identifying an area (200) on the surface of Earth where a wildfire has started; instructing to acquire a first interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar 'SAR' image pair of the area over a first observation period, wherein the wildfire remains active during the first observation period; receiving the first interferometric SAR image pair and creating an initial coherence map (600) based on the difference in phase of the first interferometric SAR image pair; determining, based on the initial coherence map (600), one or more areas of low coherence (601) indicative of a transition from a forested into a burnt area; instructing to acquire a second interferometric SAR image pair of the area over a second observation period, wherein the second observation period is subsequent the first observation period; receiving the second interferometric SAR image pair and creating a subsequent coherence map (610, 620, 630) based on the difference in phase of the second interferometric SAR image pair; and monitoring a change of the one or more areas of low coherence (601) based on the subsequent coherence map (610, 620, 630) indicative of a progression of the wildfire. Further, a ground station system for monitoring wildfire progression is provided.
