Zur verletzungsfreien Entsorgung einer Injektionsnadel (9) wird eine Schutzvorrichtung verwendet, die ein ringförmiges Fassungsteil (1) mit einer Innennut (2) für die Steckaufnahme eines Sockelteils (8) der Injektionsnadel (9) hat. Die Schutzvorrichtung hat ferner einen Anschlagbund (5) mit einer Bohrung (6) zum Durchführen der Injektionsnadel (6) sowie ein den ringförmigen Fassungsteil (1) mit der Anschlagbund (5) verbindendes dehnbares Wendelelement (3), dessen Innendurchmesser größer ist als der der Bohrung (6). Nach Ausführung der Injektion wird das Wendelelement (3) so weit gedehnt, daß die Spitze der Injektionsnadel (9) an der Innenfläche des Anschlagbunds (5) anliegt und sich dort nach Aufheben der Haltekraft verhakt. Um ein Austreten der Spitze der Injektionsnadel (9) durch die Windungen des gedehnten Wendelelements (3) zu vermeiden, ist eine am Anschlagbund (5) festgelegte Hülse (4) vorgesehen.
